Agree, just look at the SL table. We are 200 points behind the teams around us. Over 16 games thats bad, over 2 trys a game

So long as we score more points than our opposition in every match, the fact that we're two tries a game behind the rest of the top six doesn't make one shred of difference. All the table shows is that you can still do well without scoring a bagfull of points.

That said, it would be a much better spectacle if we did score a hatful every game !

Not really, I worry about the fact that the top sides can stick 50 and 60 points on the poorer sides while we huff and puff to put 20 on them.

The post was in response to someone suggesting we are a great attacking side, my points were suggesting otherwise. We play a % game which is why we're not a great attacking side and won't be under teh current coach

We also took Widnes to the cleaners that season too.

I'm not sure that we do TBH. I think we at least [itry[/i to play an attacking game but still make too many errors to score as many points as we should. You made the point yourself that we fail to convert breaks to tries with the regularity of the top scoring sides, but we are at least making breaks now. Similarly the fact that we tend to score from inside the opponents 20 is a marked improvement to the situation of the last few seasons when we were particularly clueless and inept in that part of the pitch.

We need better backs to score more tries. If we recruit well this off season I'm reasonably confident that we'll see a better return next year.
