It can't be that hard to find players in oz willing to come over and who would improve us. There must be literally 100's of them with so many teams and players over there. salford and leigh have done very well bringing over lesser known players.

I absolutely agree that a decent halfback pairing is key and will make or break the team for next year.
The overall quality in SL feels like its at an all time low and if you get the key positions right then breaking into 6th isn't a massive stretch over the next couple of years.

There's definitely an argument to made that his recruitment thus far has been unsuccessful, especially if its measured against an aim of being a top 6 side next year. Perhaps less so if you reduce those aims slightly.

It's just the lazy comment I found odd, for all we know he has been solidly working 12 hours day contacting every agent in the southern hemisphere but to little avail or he might have been getting unreal scores on Minesweeper and just ringing a couple of blokes in Leigh instead.
