I'm not sure Pearson wanted to sack Smith, think it has to be one of the conditions of the new investor, probably didn't trust Smith using his money.
Timing is too much of a coincidence.

I agree and it all comes at the start of a new financial year. This weekends result was bad...but so was the derby and the cup game.
