Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |
|
| Quote: Bombed Out "Original post edited
So you're saying a RL coach in rugby league wouldn't move to Hull, another RL Club, playing RL because of risk? Surely all clubs are in a similar situation anyway so why would it matter, the risk seems the same regardless of where you are, so it wouldn't be any more of a risk but down to individual choice.
Also you know not of our financial situation fully and whilst I except the constraints the pandemic has posed for everyone, who knows what next season may bring and/or what cap we may have available, you certainly don't.
AP if he advertises for a new coach he would need to be sure the finances were in place first and foremost so how would that be a further risk for a coach, knowing that the money was there?
They're so many variables at play to accurately assume you know what's occurring.
But in normal circumstances do you think we'd be an attractive proposition or do you still think no one would jump at the chance to coach us?
'"
My argument is based on no money being available in the short to medium term,
and you seem to agree that it could be a factor .... "AP if he advertises for a new coach he would need to be sure the finances were in place first and foremost".
So if there's no money you don't/can't advertise.
If there is money available, then great, but the noises AP is making suggest life is getting very difficult.
Are we an attractive proposition under normal circumstance? If you were a typical Hull supporter, I'd have my doubts.

| If true, that Pearson as not paid any or very little season pass money back, plus had money from 16m government rescue package, plus other government schemes, I’m really not sure Pearson will be that much out of pocket, think we’ve sold a lot of merchandise during the period to. Obviously future income could be a problem depending on what happens with Covid, but think the usual suspects are scare mongering as usual

Is Wilf one of the usual suspects?
Quote: MorningGlory23 "Well Adam Pearson has a actually been on national TV on Politics live at lunchtime today and his expression was that Rugby league Clubs if they cannot open their gates before next March face financial 'armagheddon' and clubs will start to die over the coming weeks, he wasn't laughing about it, in fact I've never seen him more serious or worried.'"
And if you believe Rimmer, he reckons RL is losing £2m a week at the moment, £16m isn't going to last very long.

| All levels of sport, outside of the premier league, are facing financial meltdown if things don’t change. I really believe that.
How can clubs persuade people to remain members, when there’s no guarantee of when they can see games in 2021?. This years goodwill won’t last forever, and people may also be in a different financial position personally.
I’m an occasional fan at lower league football and ice hockey, and they’ll be in the same position as rugby league.
Fans also won’t be buying as much merchandise, as they can’t go to games to wear it.
Just looks grim to me. Hope I’m wrong.

Haha well I wasn’t thinking about wilf, but yeh whatever, time will tell I guess, but even Pearson is giving himself until March next year, so like I said future income could be a problem for hull and Pearson. Pearson’s a business man, I’d be very surprised if he hasn’t done ok during these tough times. Rl might be in trouble as a whole, Pearson, not a chance

| AP still needs the rest of SL to survive, he may be the best business in the world, but if most other clubs sink then we'll sink with them.

We’ll have a ten team Super League. Made up of the ten clubs that remain in England.

Well Last wouldn't be sacked of course given that he's only an interim head coach.
I guess a prospective new head coach would decide whether he wanted Last as an assistant.

But CCS said no coach would want to come to Hull
If accurate that's very promising news and just what would be needed to instill a sense of optimism back into the faithful and hopefully maintain or boost pass sales.

| Odd comments, when people like Sao, Ma'u etc have been consistently good. It's the 'internal' players who go into cruise control, comfortable, think they're untouchable that is the issue

| It's nonsense from Last. Surely players signed by Wigan, Warrington , Saints and Leeds all feel the pressure too.
