| Quote: Jake the Peg "hudds are a team where the sum of the parts are better than the individuals in there, which is the opposite to where we've been for some time now. They have some good players but no real superstars - brough is good and his kicking game is massive for them and If he plays well they play well, but when you go through their side there aren't that many players who you would be desperate for us to sign if they were available. anderson has them at the top of their game much of the time which is where we need to be'"
that sums it up pretty well for me, and the reason players like McGillvary dont get noticed, until now that is.we are a team that tend to go under the radar and usually only get talked about at this stage of the season because we are expected to "choke" again, but i am more than happy with that.
we have good players but not exceptional players*, players like Brough,Crabtree, Ferres etc will always be the standout names but we have players like Murphy,Lawrence,Ta'ai,Wardle,Ellis who are all vital parts of our team but rarely get mentioned, mainly because of their consistency.
*as in how the media get in fits of hysterics over them.

Did he? I can't remember it being that bad but I do remember radford coming out of retirement so it was obviously not good

| Quote: knockersbumpMKII "With all due respect Sa & Yeaman have been gash, they aren't and shouldn't be considered 'first choice' as they simply haven't been good enough to be described as such. Also isn't Shaul first choice FB, he's played in the FB roll more than Rankin and aside from his injury which curtailed his mid season appearances & Radford using his position to punish him for his 'outburst' he very much is our first choice FB.'"
I agree about yeaman and sa but the fact is if they were fit they'd be playing hence they are our first choice centres. Plus their squad numbers kind of give it away or are you suggesting rankin and logan are now our best options?
As for shaul, what are you talking about? He's our first choice full back and he's injured - gone for the season according to the wail
Quote: knockersbumpMKII "We've lost one starting backrower, that's Ellis, '"
Unless the 13 isn;t now in the back row I think you'll find we've lost 2 of the starting 3, plus 2 of our back up options in whiting and thompson
Quote: knockersbumpMKII "we've got both our starting props plus our first choice bench prop in Feka (not that Radford has used him much this season!), you could argue given the performance against Wigan (lauded as one of our best this season) that barring a couple of players that was one of our better teams that we've put out.'"
feka really isn't up to it IMO. He's not got the impact he had nor the engine to do big minutes plus he gets spotted in defence. green and bowden have both been picked ahead of him this season so I stand by my view that feka is 5th choice
Quote: knockersbumpMKII "If the scoreline is anything similar to our defeat at their place (during our winning run I might add) I'd say that the team we've put out is better than the so-called 'first choice' players.
Making excuses for losses due to injuries/playing your least experienced 1st team squad members is a non starter for me.
Anderson's thinking will be all out, if Leeds lose against Cas they have a chance of 1st or 2nd as they've got leeds in a 4 pointer last match, I don't see him pulling players out to save from injury however I don't expect there to be a big points differential if our lads can perform like they did last weekend and cut down the mistakes.'"
Are you really suggesting that a team isn't weakened when it loses it's best players? Do you really think a weakened side should be as good as a full strength one? You should get in touch with pearson and tell him he's wasting a million quid or so a year in that case.

If we were playing you at your place we'd be OK but at the KC we're absolute gash

| Just been told only 15 players trained yesterday, with Shaul and Lineham out, really going to struggle to get a team out, are any players due back, Yeaman, Sa, Tomo, Whiting or Micheals.

Says Lineham will play in the Hull Daily Mail. Shaul rested for the season now. No players back

| I think in general this season our injuries have been down to a all time low. its just in recent weeks it has hit home. atleast its not come at a time when we had something to play for (apart from pride) the injuries don't concern me at this time in the season. what does worry me is that IF we take a beating Friday, it knocks the kids confidence for the future.
its great that these kids are getting S.L experience, but getting thumped isn't the type of experience you want the to have. also, when at home, the fans seem to get on the players backs a lot more and a lot quicker.

I hoped we had seen the last of Yeaman at centre but unfortuneately looks like he will be back on Friday as Radford is likely to move Rankin to full back
