| After Sunday his loan would be a week-by-week basis. It won't be until the end of the season - Saints will want to have the ability to recall him (I'm sure they wouldn't want him playing for us if we met them in the playoffs due to his goal-kicking).

In the Daily Wail Foster only got a 6, while the rest of the players got 7 & 8s. I could not weigh that one up. The reporter must of been watching a different game(not Smailes). He was nowhere near the worst Hull player on the pitch, even his goal kicking saw to that.

| Not a bad player, but not too fussed about him staying or going really. If we're being brutally honest, if he wasn't a goal kicker it would be a no contest between him and Lineham already once Horne is fit. It's only a debate because of Tickle's absence.

| I think that if Lineham hadn't have gotten injured we would have seen Foster returning to Saints.
Sharp will be back soon (but will be in the 20s again this week) and I guess that Gentle wants to have 3 options for the wing spots because we'd be screwed if we got another injury.
He's not a bad player but he isn't brilliant either. He can score a try okay and his support play is good, but his defence is pretty average and he has missed a few tackles/shot out of the line. Briscoe is far superior as a winger, obviously, and I think that Lineham is looking a better talent. Stronger, faster, better tackler.
Foster seems pretty similar to Sharp in terms of ability, but his kicking raises him above Sharp in the pecking order.
It would be concerning if Saints were to partner Foster and Turner on the same side next season.

| Here is an idea for the young lads, learn to kick a ball well and you will get a deal at SL club, don't worry about any other skills.

| Hi from the Saints board.
We are also having a debate over Foster, whether we should recall him or not. When he came on to the scene for Saints he was a breath of fresh air. The kicking was one thing, but also a player with the confidence to take a high ball in traffic and not make a Meli of it.
His defence was decent and he was our top try scorer last year.
But part way through last year the wheels seamed to have fallen off, he still could score tries and kick goals, but he seamed to get the wobbles under the high balls and defensively got pulled about.
I think that is why he got pulled from the first team, whilst he may not be the biggest or fastest winger he still had a knack of getting over the white wash.
I saw him in the Hull KR and Wigan games and he seamed to show his two sides, very decent in the KR game and pulled about by the wigan attack.
How would you rate him defensively in his month with you????

Sharp is a much stronger runner, makes lots of yards and has a good offload.
Personally I would prefer Sharp in my team next week than Foster, but think Foster will get in for his kicking, which I don't agree with.

| Done agree that foster will play above sharp just for his kicking,
Surely westerman could take over kicking duties?

I think scoring tries as a winger for Saints maybe a little easier as you have the creative players to put them on a plate for him. We struggle to score points and the wingers may well have to work harder for their scores and do that little bit more than just put the ball down. We have only scored more points than the bottom 4 teams and Wakefield this season, yet until last week's horror show were in the frame for top 4......

| Playing Foster is a tricky one. On the one hand, he guarantees you extra points with his great kicking accuracy. On the other, he offers less in attack than your other options. I'd slightly lean towards the former and hold Lineham back from the time being.
EDIT - Oh so Lineham is knackered after his collision. Foster is the best option then. Him and Briscoe.
