Because of one daft error against Wakey people are somehow assuming he's a poor defender. Actually he's very good - he has a great pair of hands, catches everything coming his way, and has so far shown himself to be a great one on one defender (unlike the turnstile the dobbins have got).

The big question against him when he was signed was his injury record, there was far less to worry about him in terms of ability. Let's hope he keeps healthy because he's real quality.

“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club. Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you. "Rugby League is a simple game played by simple people. Rugby Union is a complex game played by wankers." L.Daley 2005:

Quote: Wellsy13 "He's like a ghost. He just floats around and then goes through walls! Know how to break a line near the danger zone!

I don't think he's very good at returning the ball though. And he's prone to some very costly errors at times. Needs to cut these out.'"

Prescott,Briscoe and Tony have all done the same mistakes but 2 of those never got lambasted on here like some do.Mckinnon is 1st class...postional play superb, always supporting the runner, kick returns are good...what more do the bleedin moaners want.

In a lot of ways he is like Jordan Tansey, Tansey was very off the cuff, great one minute and then next with the brain farts and stupid mistakes. Such a shame he blew it, I do think fans like to have that slightly more interested look from a full back instead of the ambling about part of his game. Still so long as he keeps this up and cuts out the errors he could even get a sniff for MoS?

Some people are already yelling 'Run Straight!' or 'Run hard you lazy beep' at the KC, as though they expect McKinnon to suddenly transform into an 18 stone prop and barge through the line icon_beat.gif

I did say last year when he signed if he stays fit he will be an excellent signing, big improvement on Phelps and our best all-around FB since Prescott.

So far he is proving me right, haven't seen the Saints game yet, but watched ever other game, but haven't seen him drop a bomb or miss a tackle yet, looks good going forward and in 4 games has made 16 tackle busts.

Talking about Brain farts, I can remember only one this season last week against Wakey, made a couple of other errors but so does every other player.

Let's hope he stays fit.

I don't think he offers more than Prescott. For a start, Prescott had genuine pace. He could, and would, go the length of the field if given a sniff.

But on the other hand he seems to have more skill, there's pros and cons to both. All I know is this is the happiest I've been with a FB of ours since Prescott! But it's early doors yet.

Definitely. I think he maybe offers as much as Prescott in different ways, but saying he offers more doesn't seem right.

Very pleased with him, positioning is fantastic, good tactical brain and is safe too, as for the Wakey mistake i think i've pretty much seen most good full backs make that error at some time in their careers.

I think Wade would match Prekkie for pace to be honest. The try Prescott scored against Saints was more down to a step as Albert went to make the tackle, than blistering pace.
