| You do know he can't even get into a house Roosters team don't you? For your sake I hope you get O'Meley circa 2007 not 2009!

Strangely enough that's mentioned in the report, linked to on the first page of this thread. Stranger still, some of us on this board can read

| Never been his biggest fan, always felt he was a bit overrated. He does have good pedigree and is undoubtedly a good prop but it's a shame we never got Kite.
If he gets over his knee operation then hoepfulyl he will big a good signing, providing his attitude is right.

| The burning question here is; was the club aware that O'Meley required surgery at the time of the signing?
The way the club was late confirming the signing and seem at pains to stress it will only happen 'subject to a medical', suggests that they, understandably, are getting cold feet.
When will the medical take place? Before surgery? After surgery? After O'Meley's rehab?
We need answers.

Us real fans don't look over our shoulder at our neighbours and do whatever we can to get one over on them. We look at the bigger picture. And this is the reason why Rovers are and will forever be considered a small club. Because their fans and board would rather get one over on Hull FC above anything else.

I know, but we can't all have signings like Kyle Bibb

I would have thought they are very pertinent indeed - even the 2010 incarnation of O'Meley won't come cheap!

You need to change your name mate... Hull-KR is more fitting don't you think?
Ofcourse the club where aware hence why they want to do a medical before the deal goes through.
The reason why it was late is because it didn't come from Hull, it came from Sydney and Hull didn't want to announce it untill after his exploratory knee operation.
I'd assume during his rehab.

Whilst I understand what you are saying it would be nice to see someone in the Hull pack show an ounce of aggression.
Opposition packs have a field day against us, they know they can bully us. Until our forwards start putting themselves about we will struggle in every game. O’Meley, Fitzgibbon and Lauaki have been brought in to add the aggression that Dowes, Thackray, King, etc, aren’t capable or not willing to produce.

I am sure there is a contradiction in there somewhere!
So what you are saying then, is that the medical will take place in a few months time during O'Meley's rehab?
Presumably, if he fails, the deal is null and void.
Then it would be back to the drawing board - salary-cap money to spend, but all the best overseas players already snapped up!
The vibes I am getting is that the club would ideally like to get out of this deal but cannot unless O'Meley fails the medical.

Look, we have signed him so he's a worldbeater ok! So what if the Aussie press, his coaching staff and neutral fans of the NRL say he's not the player he used to be, he plays for us now, so he'll be awesome!
