3 years is a big risk for a 32 year old. He may still be brilliant in 3 years but it's more likely he won't. Good luck to him if true and I hope we use the cash to sign bateman or whitehead

wont ellis be 31 when he starts his 3 year contract at FC???? what difference does a year make when manu hasn't had a history of missing games, if you are worried you sign him on more money and get a option clause put in for the 3rd year, it wouldn't surprise me if that's what saints or anybody else chasing him does if he does leave you. |

Manu is a great player but Ellis is world class which somewhat offsets the risk of awarding him with a 3 year deal imo. |

I reckon he's signed and it'll be announced as part of a "good news" week leading up to playing the Lord's hated Leeds.
If he's decided to go I think Hull would've announced it as soon as possible in order to give us chance to come to terms with it before we play again.

I like your thinking and hope it is the case, however if they are going to announce it you'd assume it will be tommorow...as they'll want as many days good ticket sales as possible. |

fair point, just think giving manu a 3 year deal at 32 is offset by how few injuries he's had, don't really see it as that big a gamble compared to some 32 year olds, if you can afford it manu on the left and ellis on the right (where he likes to play normally) would be a pretty devastating first choice 2nd row. |
