I just dont think we can hold on for a better player than Witt. Everyone is in dreamland with regards Orford.

He'll be 31 and theres no doubt he'll stay at Manly.

I don't expect Orford to sign for Hull.

My preference would be an out and out no.7. I know the clubs have been looking into this but not sure where they are with it.

If we have nobody lined up then going for Witt would make sense, its just the balance between him and Horne that would need tweaking, they are both intelligent players so I guess it could possibly work.

Maybe I am just being too hopeful about a SH for 2010.

Agreed. Horne and Cooke offered great balance though.

I would say the form of Witt was the driving factor in NZWs great end to last season as he was playing as the lone halfback as they started games with 2 hookers.

I think Witt and Horne would work very well together as Witt is a very good organiser and superb kicker.

Without a doubt it was, he was excellent. I would say Fien was doing most of the organising tbh but Witt does possess a very good kicking game which anyone playing alongside Horne would need.

At least I'm not the only one who thinks that. Stop gap signing for me. No way should we be going into next season with him and Horne as the 1/2's

I don't think the plan is to go with Thorman and Horne next season tbh, hence the one year deal for Thorman.
