| We really need to add some quality to the squad. With everyone fit, this season's squad isn't good enough. With the players leaving, we will really struggle to improve next season IMO. Relalcing manu, moa and o'meley with better quality is a tall order (although I appreciate o'meley has hardly played, he has shown his quality when he has). arundell and crookes might go on to be good players but I don't think they're as good as the players they're likely to be replacing at this stage

Would you be happy if we got Chase? Finch? Holdsworth?
I think Moa will be near on impossible to replace with a player who is just like he is, definatley in the SL.

| Canterbury are now in for Finch, along with Souths.- so looking unlikely to stay in ESL.
When AP took over, he indicated he wanted us to be challenging for titles, and finals,
IMO, Our achilles heel is our attack, the weakness is at stand off., for mine Holdsworth wont transform our attack
to the extent that we would challenge.
Chase could, but it all depends IF AP would pay a hefty fee. - also there was the renewal of his visa, but as he has
an English child, this would be a formality.

chase or finch would add real quality, holdsworth would be better than horne but not really as good as we need IMO.
Lopini pea is due to come to rovers so maybe we could snatch him first?

| I've said for a while now that I would be happy with the signing of Lopini paea. Mickey is meant to be the better of the two, although he's only been at Rovers half a season he hasn't had any rave reviews about him.

We certainly need to replace Moa with an overseas prop, I don't see anyone in SL who could. I think we will though, it's already an area which Gentle has said needs work to. I would be happy with any of those 3, all would improve us.

I've always preferred Lopini, he was excellent in the same Roosters team as Morley.

I understand your concerns, I have similar views. It's hard to judge though until we know all of our recruitment. As it stand we have Ellis for Manu and Arundell for Turner which looks fine so far. They key will be finding the right 6 and a couple of props to replace Moa/Ogre.

Hull Fc don't do quality halfbacks anymore.

Oh right? What since the old regime you mean?
We had 4 HB's signed up for this year plus... couldnt really go adding in another couple of halfbacks of the new regime's choice due to Salary Cap. Everyone's quick to criticise when things aren't going to plan.
We do need a change, it won't come easy... Ellis is definitely on his way out. I believe Niklas' contract is up this year... we also have Horne and Seymour, depending on what the contract situation is with Horne it will be interesting to see what our options are.
Gotta keep the faith.

I still think it could mainly be the case that we don't necessarily need to significantly improve on all of the outgoing players. Currently, all of the top sides look to be facing significant losses for next season, so as long as in the main we don't suffer big drops in quality all over we may well catch up relatively anyway. IMO so long as we make a major improvement in the halves and bring in a couple of good props, we stand every chance of not being too far off if Gentle and Hay can continue improving the way we play.
With some of our squad it's not the ability that's lacking, it's the application/mentality. Bringing in slightly less talented players with greater desire, consistency, concentration, and general game sense could still see the side as a whole become stronger. We've had a half-decent group of players for a while, but they've rarely looked like the team they should be. Hopefully we'll start to become more than the sum of our parts.

According to Phil Clarke and OPTA, we have one of the best in SL ATM.
