Quote: hokeydokey "Dear me what great fans we have..not ..Pearson did promise success and even though we lost we had a Wembley appearance and then the really loyal fans..not get Gentle the sack just like the Kear who since the loyal fans..not.. wanted back .Did you think Pearson employed Gentle and Radford to fail??get a grip .Pearson has put a lot of cash into the Club to get a good side and yet again on paper we have but they are not performing. To put that down to the coach after only 12 games in is a joke .Look at salford the great Noble fails with some really class players and you want him here??Andy Last is respected through out RL and to call him shows how fickle and pathetic fans are.I have no doubt that if you asked every supporter to choose the side you would get many combinations.Radford picks a side he thinks best and the players let him down ..its as simple as that.Only Feka was the only forward to come out with any credit the rest were poor .Shaul was the only one in the backs. I hope your distrespectful comments about Pearson dont come back to bite us and we end up with no club because I would not blame him if he said enough is enough.Loyal fans dont think so'"
If someone goes every week home and away and buys two shirts every year, but questions the way the club is run, why does that make them disloyal? Surely they just care?
I am loyal to the club, and I want what is best for the club, I wouldn't stop going because we weren't playing well, I wouldn't even stop going if we fell through the divisions and got thumped 50-0 by Hemel. However, I know that most fans are not like me, many have stopped going already and if we don't address some key issues quickly we will get to the point where the damage will take years, maybe even a decade, to repair.
Are people too quick to jump on the backs of coaches? In some cases yes. In this instance Radford should have not gotten the job, getting rid of Gentle was knee jerk, but if we had replaced him some someone who had a proven track record, I would have been happy. Instead we give it to a guy who has spend a year coaching the academy team and a year as an assistant
But then I thought, okay, he might not have all the attributes or experience that we need. But we have good players, and he will at least get them playing with a bit of pride and maybe, just maybe, that will be enough for us to push on.
We started the season pretty well, a couple of defeats but we were giving a good account of ourselves. Then I watched the Widnes game and it was one of the most abject performances I have ever seen from us. But I thought, just a blip, in fact this might be a good thing, put a rocket up some guys who need it. And then came the Salford CC game, Rovers, Wakefield, each performance more pathetic than the last. Although I haven't seen last nights game it sounds like that was another.
The players have to take a portion of the blame, of course they do, but Radford was brought in to intimidate, to get some pride back in the badge and get the players putting in honest performances. At the moment it seems that a few guys are giving their all, but a lot of them don't seem to care too much what happens in recent weeks, and that's not good enough.
This is not the fault of Radford, this attitude has been around the club since Swain left. However Radford is not going to put it right. We need to rip out all the dead wood and bring in a coaching team that demands respect, and if they don't get it, they are not afraid to show people the door.
So it's got nothing to do with loyalty. It's about making a positive change that will protect the future of the club. My main concern at the minute is that we have a quality batch of youngsters coming through, and as a result this should be an exciting time. But if we don't get the right people in to nurture them we will just end up with another lost generation of Tommy Lee's.
Anyway that's my rant over. Please do something Adam.
