| Quote: knocker norton "I have no worries about Long. He reads and dictates the game exceptionally well but he will need support and the form of Horne is quite a concern for me at the mo. I dont think keeping Thorman is even an option after the year he has had and all thats gone the best thing for both parties is to move on.
I would like us to highlight a scrum half future replacement for Long though who can work alongside him for a couple of years with the first team number 7 jersey the ultimate aim. Whether we have an academy player who could do this or maybe bring a young Championship player similar to Gale at Quins or McNally at Giants I dont know but we need to be planning longer term.'"
I don't think Thorman would go to bad at Stand Off if Horne got injured. The pressure to create isn't on as much as Scrum Half, but it offers other options. With Tansey at Fullback and Berrigan at 9 I think he'd do alright. Only as cover of course.
I've not seen much of the reserves but how is Danny Niklas doing?

I recall he came having spoke to Rich Agar and being impressed with what he said - are you suggesting what Richard said was "yes Mr Fitzgibbon, if you sign, we'll sign your mate" ?'"
No, I'm suggesting that the idea Fitzgibbon only signed if Cusack was staying is bollox.

The thought has crossed my mind before (and I have heard it rumoured before), but I would hope it's not the case. If it is, it makes 2 questionable signings IMO. Best to just see how they go first.

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |

It probably is but Fitzgibbons first interview upon signing was all about how his family got on with the Cusacks! Like you say though a player would never make this kind of decision on the back of another player but it may certainly influence things.

Wanting to come because he is friends with Cusack is somwhat different to the claim by some that his signing was dependant on Cusack being here.
Fitz signed a month before Cusack extended his contract. No doubt some will claim that the club kept the news on Cusack quiet for a few weeks to avoid any suspicion.

Not getting into the logistics of things but I think you can guarentee that Fitz asked plenty of questions about Hull to Cusack and it is not unrealistic to say that Cusack also mentionned that contract negotiations were ongoing at the time.
End of the day I am happy that both players are here next year. Look at the Burnett situation now. With Fitz and Cusack at the club next year surely this is a better 'influence' then some current players.

Moa has done well hasnt he? A super league prop in my opinion without doubt.
From Hull's point of view is that what we need? It maybe. A cracking pack with Moa, Lauaki and manu it would be great to watch.
More importantly how do our halves look for next season? Top 2?

I can see it now. " Yak can you tell me a bit about it over there? "
Yep sure well it's fat capital, poor education, high crime, club is run by baffoons and coached by someone who is at best a West Yorkshire scout. Not to mention the fans who get filled with pure hatred when the chips are down.
"Wow where do I sign?"
Whatever! I certainly wouldn't mind being a zero behind him in his bank balance once he gets his money here.

Moa has to stay.
With regards to our halves, im nervous if Long gets injured. Im nervous if Horne doesnt regain his form.
Do we need another half?
Options we have i guess at 6 are:
R Horne
Washy
Whiting
Turner
Berro
Tansey
Theyll all do a job next to Long but i dont see it if Long gets injured
