You do get the feeling the longer it goes on that it could be career threatening but we will see i guess.

Briscoe has many qualities that made him a fans favourite at the KC, the main ones being 110% effort every game, bravery/willingness to put his body on the line week in week, safe as houses under the high ball, a brilliant link-up with Richard Horne, and a genuine nice bloke who always did more than his fair share of interraction with the fans. Not the most gifted player in the world, but played with heart and endeavour and that's what endeared him to the majority. The fact that, if he could turn back the clock, he might have signed his initial contract offer and appears to have been badly advised, coupled with a utility player being preferred to him and the fact he's doing very well at Rovers and knocking on the international door, plus the fact that said utility player now seems to have had an extremely unfortunate run of injuries, means a lot of people can't help looking East and wishing he was still part of our set-up.

I'm gutted for Motu Tony. I have no inside information, but it sounds to me from the snippets of info we get that this is a serious injury. I thought the worst last season TBH when it appeared to be a recurrence of the previous one which kept him out for ages but it appeared that he was making good progress in the off season and was in contention for Wigan. Looks now like that was wide of the mark for whatever reason - such a shame as, for all Byrne is doing a very good job at the moment, we miss Tony's strong running from kick returns and support play.

Motu's great, heart like a lion and brave as hell. Hope he gets back to full fitness soon as we miss his kick returns where we end up on the front foot

Briscoe is gone get over it. Players come and players go. If I was going to turn the clock back I`d have Gary Kemble any day. Briscoe couldn`t lace his boots.

Kemble's not available though is he? Briscoe is, in all likelihood, the new England FB and was a a fans favourite at the KC for good reasons. Just stating why, IMO, some people still rate him and would prefer he was this side of the river. This is compounded by Tony's unfortunate run of injuries.

You're entitled to your opinion. All I would say is that he did want to stay but was advised to reject the initial offer by his agent and this was then withdrawn. Unfortunate all round, apart from for Briscoe's agent. You may not care but quite a few people do. I was just trying to explain why I think this is.

At least hes not on £40,000 a week and paid £5 million for him.

He's a big boy though and didn't sign at gunpoint. Didn't Yeaman decide to ignore his former agent's advice? Anyway as has been pointed out, Shaun Briscoe gone and personally Motu has my full support.

Hopefully the next thread about Mots will be a Briscoe-free zone, although somehow I doubt it.

If my agent advised me not to sign for Hull and sign for rovers instead I would sacked him on the spot.

The question was asked why people go on about Briscoe. In addition to all the points I've already listed, he hardly left us in the manner of Cooke or Carvell. Like it or not there's an affection for him that won't go away.

He didn't advise him not to sign for Hull, he advised him to wait to see if he got GB selection in 2006 which would earn him an improved deal at Hull FC under our wage structure, whereas if not he could get a better basic pay elsewhere. Wigan were also in for him at the time. The GB thing never happened and in the meantime Rovers had tabled a better offer and FC had withdrawn theirs. Bad advice, as it turned out.

As for Motu, we're desperately missing him at the minute.

I hope im wrong but I doubt we will see motu in a black and white shirt again, mindya the guy who were supposed to be looking at for next season is top notch. Byrne will do for me, as for Briscoe he isnt at our club so why discuss him.

Surely Craig Hall could do top class job there once his defence is sorted. Looking forward to seeing him soon, both centres offering little at the moment for me.
