| A couple of senior players were consulted about Connor, and they weren't keen so we didn't progress it I hear

| Quote: The games afoot "People on here banging on about Abdull fitness….Jai Field has done his hamstring again…that’s 3 times in 3 seasons,1st time 5ths,2nd 10 weeks and now this one is looking like weeks as well…so Abdull could play more than Field but if field was available,we would sign him with his injury record'"
If Abdull was a fullback like Field his injury record wouldn’t be talked about half as much. For one thing we’ve got a few options there, and in general it’s usually easier for wingers and centres to cover that position well. We’ve massively struggled without a specialist playmaker to the point that our season was effectively over in about 6 weeks. Factor in how much we’ve struggled without Trueman and his bad luck with injuries we’d have to have rely on a chunk of luck to see our 6 and 7 playing together most weeks.
FWIW I don’t know the logistics of it as there’s not much available but I just have a hunch we might either add some experienced cover/completion for the playmakers or maybe even an unexpected twist in our recruitment/retention that might mean Abdull’s fitness is less of a gamble.

I took a lot of stick on here when he was leaving for Huddersfield but I’ve been proved right.
He’s got a poor attitude, the pace of a donkey and wants to argue with everyone.
The club are trying to improve the fitness and culture of the playing squad.
Why on earth any posters would want him back is beyond belief..
May as well get griffin and Reynolds back
We got hammered many times with him on the pitch, bringing him back would do far more harm.
He’s done nothing at giants with a lot better playing squad, so why do posters think he’d improve us.'" When he's good though, he's very good. Nobody in Super league comes close to possesing the skill set he has when he turns it on.
I'd rather pay money to watch him than Morgan Smith. You usually get entertainment value with Connor.

| Read a story that Huddersfield have gone in for Damien Cook. Not sure how much reality is in the story. But if true, it would show them having more ambition than us.

He confirmed St George's interest but would not commit as he is expected to take up a leadership/coaching position with Souths when he retires and has a contract with them for 2025, beyond that Souths will not commit , so if he has a good 2025, then all options are open to him.

How do you know we haven’t gone for him?
If York ‘go for’ Nathan Cleary, does that make them make them more ambitious than us??
Don’t believe the hype.

If York went in for Nathan Cleary whilst we opt to go for Jordan Abdul instead. Then, Yes, would be the answer to your question.

I also asked her out but had to tell her that there'd be no morning sex when NRL was on.

What’s the evidence we haven’t? Or what’s the evidence Huddersfield have?
It’s all nonsense.

I never started the rumour that we had tried to sign him. That come from you in a post of sarcastic anger because I mentioned our clubs ambition.
I just mentioned that I read somewhere that Huddersfield were in for him.
Why that flustered you, only you know. I was just sharing something I saw about rugby league on a rugby league forum.

So there is no evidence either way?
Yet you make the assumption that they are being more ambitious than us.
Why?

Rugby League Live can reveal that there was an approach made to Cook and his representatives, and some tentative discussions did take place. However, it became apparent to the Giants pretty quickly that the hooker did not have interest in pursuing a move to Huddersfield or indeed Super League, which saw them step away from negotiations at an early stage.
This was elaborated on further by head coach Ian Watson, who confirmed talks with Cook had taken place.
