Quote: K-Diddy "I saw a post on Twitter the other night claiming that Savelio has never played in a game for any club against Saints. Seems a bit of an odd fact so wouldn't be surprised at all not to see him feature in the semi.'"

It's true but then he only played a total of 32 games for Warrington/Cas (and seven Warrington appearances were in the 2017 'middle eights') so not particularly remarkable.

Fingers crossed he make his first appeaance against them on Saturday.

Scrub Fages off the list if he's asking for 200k a year.

It, be one of Hodgsons challenges getting the most out the cap and the over seas spots. Saints get it spot on.

I don't think we can keep carrying players like Matongo who rarely feature, granted he's not on a huge wage, but for how little he features that wage could go towards combing with others we release and signing a strong player. We could well as somebody mentioned have a few who are past their sell by date on big wages too.

I'd be interested how much we've given Houghton and Shaul with their new contracts, as well as Mau's, Fonuas and Faraimos performances vs wages/overseas spots.

Bit of squad rejigging I think. Just my opinion.

Not a fan of Fages personally but even if I was 200K is a ridiculous amount but then again when Wire have re signed King for 170K you can’t blame his agent trying for it.

We certainly need some changes to the squad and a bit more balance. Fonua was just a signing we didn’t need and has hampered us. We lack pace on the edges other than Swift (who has been good). Jury is out for me on Mau but I’m hoping he’ll show similar form as he did in the NRL, as we’ve only seen glimpses so far. As much as Danny Houghton has been a great for the club we need more from him and the 9 spot than just defence. He can’t do 80 mins each week without loosing form and that has started showing again in the last few games. We need a Daryl Clarke/Paul McShane type player that can inject an real attacking threat as well as good defence.
I’m not sure Masi is one that will make it and just seems to be another Chris Green but unit but lacks the aggression to be a top SL forward. Think we’ve seen that Sneyd & Reynolds when we get go forward can do what is needed but unfortunately since losing Taylor & Bowden our go forward stopped, not helped by the lack of size in any replacements.

Think we will see a few changes coming next season as BH assess the team.

I know Zak got his punishment yesterday (twice) but surely it was also a red card for big Tompkins.

I certainly hope he does make it for Saturday, I'll be honest I thought he'd played more for Warrington & completely forgot he was even at Cas so that makes sense.

Sneyd has kicked many teams to death but take away his kicking theirs not much left

Taylor just doesn't play enough games

3 top end earners we should be looking at replacing

If Taylor could stay fit keep him 100%..... but his injury record last 3 years has been awful'"

I agree about Sneyd in 99% of games but I thought on Friday he showed some good signs running with the ball. A good break from dummy half and he also poked his nose through the line a couple more times. We need to see more of that type of running play from him.

would have thought so rider,it was`nt him who got the head stuck on him,so there was no need for him to go in throwing punches, even though he says he was defending his brother.what`s wrong with sam that he car`nt defend himself.

Win next and where at Wembley. Hodgson has done well and this year was always going to be a transition period. Let's get behind the lads'"

In my opiniion if we are going to play two nines we should start with Johnstone.
Danny Houghton for all his faults has a lot more impact when he comes on than Johnstone.
I keep saying this but can see Shaul as our bench nine next season

It’s size we need in the pack for next season. A good big un will always beat a good little un as the saying goes . As much as I like cator lane brown and fash as individuals, it’s to many to carry 4 players out of the pack that don’t have size . Can maybe have a couple but not that many , especially when we’re short in numbers as it is .

i will be very surprised if Fages can carry on his good form at another club as at Saints he is surrounded by quality players and a great system of play, but good luck to him.
I agree nine is a problem for us as the new rules have changed the requirement here to having a a quick elusive player in the position to make breaks from dummy half which we dont have from Houghton or Johnstone.
That said when Houghton has been on the bench and come on for Johnstone our play improves.
I am certain Hodgson knows what he wants but who does he move on to enable us to sign anyone from overseas?
Its a pity we cant move Fonua on but it looks like Faraimo will go and it seems Mau could be on his way but his last two games have been much better so i wonder if he could be staying.

If I could I'd release both overseas wingers, sign a UK winger and use the quota spots for a prop and hooker

Doing great at the minute, currently 38-0 down to Wakefield bringing a weekend of odd scorelines to an end.

I disagree.

Kicking is a huge part of the game, both in terms of territory, attacking plays and points. Without Sneyd, we’d still be waiting for our first Wembley win. He’s the type of player some won’t appreciate until his Hull career is over. Can’t remember the stats, but I’m sure before he arrived we’d gone 1-2 seasons without a 40/20 or a drop goal.

Sneyd is the best goalkicker in Super League and I doubt many NRL kickers can match his stats.

Yes, there’s better attacking scrum half’s, but if you apply Moneyball theory to his value to the team and delivery in big match and pressure moments, he’d be in my all time greatest Hull team that I’ve seen in my 45 years watching Hull.

As for Scott Taylor, he’s currently out with a broken foot, that’s hardly an injury you can blame on a player.

As for Danny, yes we need to make plans to find his successor. I’m not sure Johnston’s is the answer. As another poster says, I’d look to at the pption to develop Jamie Shaul in the position. However, Danny still has something to offer, even as an interchange for another season, depending upon his contract situation.

So if you want to replace those three players, do you think we could maintain that quality on cheaper contracts?

Bearing in mind all 3 are still under contract next year.
