| For me for what its worth we have lost a guy who was a liability, a penalty machine and someone who as he got older never really grew up.... oh and a player without whom we would have probably gone down last season.
Everyone on here has to admit for so many games when Connor didn't play we were clueless. Still perhaps its for the best for Both the Club and the player. That said as I have mentioned on here before as a Club we have only one solution to a player we can't manage, move him on. The top clubs take on difficult cases and even 'basket cases' and make good lads of them, not through the coach but more by the culture of the organisation.
However for me to lose two maverick type players in Sneyd and Connor in one year when such players are in such short supply, is I think an indication that we simply don't have that culture at our club. Talk about saying what we all know!!!
However like it or not, both players have won us many matches almost on their own and both are gone. Sneyd went, I know first hand, because he saw himself as central to the structure, that the attack played, and the Coach didn't like it and wanted to change it and now Connor is gone as well. Now Sneyd has gone on to claim international honours in the World Cup in his first year at a new club, whilst Jake has already appeared for the national team and will no doubt do so again. A lot now hangs on their replacements and our new coaches ability to get a team with the right culture firing in attack without them. Something for which I have the greatest belief that Tony Smith will do that. Thank heavens we have got a proper Coach at last!
As everyone says we move on with hope and expectation, of course we do because as fans hope is all we have but I wonder how much we will miss Jake . Good luck to him and lets hope he grows up a bit!

All men are created equal, some work harder in preseason.

| Connor I can cope with, he’s felt more trouble than he’s worth in many ways. But that Hull Fair shirt is unforgivable.

Yeah not sure if it's a third shirt or a turd shirt.
Maybe Jake refused to wear it and thats why he was released....

| Well we've got a very experienced coach, and a brand new set of pivots.
Hoy
Trueman/Clifford
Lovodua/dwyer
Plenty of pace we previously lacked and creativity spread out rather than channelled all through one player.
Hopefully a couple more signings to come and lets hope we finally have luck with injurys.
Good foundations set in pivots, and a huge amount of cap available to build around those signings end of next season

He was awful for us at stand off. I admit he was pretty poor in a lot of respects at fullback, but we performed even worse with him at 6. I suspect like us, Giants will get 6/7 games out of him pulling rabbits out of a hat, and the rest of the season injured or poor.

Well according to our coach between 4-6 months. You appear to be out of date in Hull regarding current treatment on this type of injury. 10 months may have been needed in the past but no longer. The club have consulted widely in the NRL and over here, and of course with the consultants involved and 4-6 months appears to be consensus. Liam sutcliffe had a similar injury last year and was back within that time period.
Connor has already had the surgery so the clock has already started, Watson has said there’s a possibility he may even be ready for the start of the season- but obviously he will have had no preseason so it’s unlikely that will be the case.
I suspect the 10 month quoted was a combination of bad journalism and spin.

| Played his best games for us at centre. Lack of pace exposed his game at full back, and never convinced at 6.
We relied on him too much and it was a case of “give it to Connor”.
Think he’d have been even better for us if it wasn’t all on him.

| There’s nothing quite like a supercilious poster Is there?..
Perhaps jools was just letting folk see an on line article that they hadn’t previously seen..
On subject of Connor.
A thought for the few vocal fans on here that wanted him to stay..
He made it clear some months ago he no longer wanted to play for FC.
So why make a player fulfill his last year contract when he doesn’t want to be at the club.
Accept he’s gone and let’s move on.
Time will tell if he can win the giants a trophy.
I hope he does actually for Ken Davys sake.

| I think somewhere between the two you'll find the more accurate estimate. Hull will obviously spin it their way and Huddersfield the same. Only time will tell.
I was pretty neutral on his release to be honest, probably leaning more towards being disappointed, but everything i've seen or read this week makes me think Hull have made the right decision .

It's also on the other thread, plus Jools has a real bee in her bonnet when it comes to Hull/Connor and Pearson, just coming on here to have digs at the club. Still not sure she is over it.

And of course your coach would never put spin on anything he says
Time will tell?
