No idea. The same as I've no idea why we signed Galea. I am pretty sure that Niklas would not have improved our chances one iota on Saturday though.

| Quote: Erik the not red "Has Shaul been playing regularly for York though? I can't remember seeing his name on the team sheet much and he didn't play the weekend before the London game. Nicklas got an awful rating in the report from the local rag as well. So perhaps PG didn't have as much choice as some people seem to think.'"
think he only played in the first game for york as their own fullback was injured, this is where not having a u20s/21s is coming back to bite clubs on the @rse! players like shaul are left in limbo not getting any game time at all and when we had an injury like on saturday it would've been madness and unfair to put shaul in with practically no game time this season!

All Gentle's fault I reckon.

I recon Gentle thought it best to leave Shaul until the derby, and then the sad fans can crucify him at Easter.

| Quote: berro's best mate "having witnessd the london game first hand, can i just ask fellow supporters, why do we have a squad of 25-30 players?? its clearly evident to me, that no matter who gets injured etc, then we never use our squad.. take saturday for example, surely brisoce would be better staying on the wing rather than using him as full back, his performance was woeful if im honest..... why dont we use the reserve full back??, ie
I would like to see this happen and actually last year we did see some good performances from the youngsters.
I reckon PG is under much more pressure from AP this season and is panicking a little, the problem of course if he plays the youngsters and they fail he is in trouble - damned if you damned if you dont.
The ultimate question is are FC trying for short term success or long term development under PG, if it truly is the latter then success should be sacrificed whilst we blood and develop the kids (find our own 7 for example).
If that message was clear everyone would back the team and understand.
I may be wrong but it seems that Leeds, Saints & Wigan often put faith in relatively unheard youngsters and they end up being very good players.

He has only played for York once, away at Whitehaven on the opening day of the season.

Played every game apart from Sheffield away. Was very impressive in the wins against Swinton and Workington but was pretty anonymous in defeats to Batley and Keighley. All 17 of them we're bloody awful against Keighley to be fair.
When playing behind a dominant pack he can certainly do some damage, but he is prone to the odd brain explosion.

| I agree with some posts. Also agree with the like of wigan leeds etc blooding in there youngsters.
But also IMO wigan, leeds etc can blood in there youngsters with ease because they have quality players. There youngsters come into the side to give the stars a rest.
But i do feel bowden, kent and green should play more though. Nicklas well that's upto him. Didn't show much when used before but with a decent go who knows.

| Have to be careful how many youngsters you blood at once. I personally don't think Niklas will ever pay for us again.
Heard a whisper that Green didn't play due to a contractual issue, not sure what it is?

Yeah i know, i'm agreeing with a previous post stating they should play more.
I think bowden should replace pitts on the bench because i think he's one of our better props. Also closest thing to Sam Moa we have. Good drives, big hits and always gets back up. Green well, i'm still enjoying him mocking Peacock against Leeds. Only good thing about that game.
