Quote: Rock God X "Seymour was crap last season and crap tonight. No wonder we tried so hard to replace him in the off season. Would rather see Horne there. Or Heremaia. Or just about anyone, in fact.'"

Thought holdsworth offered zero though as well.

brett seynour is little short of a terrible siging for hull fc...massive wedge and little to show for it..... i stated on here when we signed the man, that he was garbage, ....binned off by 3 nrl clubs for a variety of off field incidents, culminating in a drink driving charge before he signed for fc.... total and utter waste of cap and quota space whilst he has been here....
time will tell and lets be fair, seymour wont be getting a contract extension, neither will he be wanting to leave before his deal ends..... unfortunatly thats down to the last regime handing out mega contracts to average players....
holdswort will be a good siging and from what ive seen in one game, he has more about him than seymour does....
we seem to be stuck with brett for at least this season, so unless anything happens we will again be struggling to compete against the big boys... saying that though, dont be suprised to have heremaia and holdsworth at 6 & 7 vs the bulls friday night

Seymour was gash last night,he made 4 errors in the first 15/20 mins. Let's hope there's some improvement. Galea was equally as poor,he gifted the first try and his knock on from the scrum on 60 mins turned the game. we'd regrouped after being under the kosh in the first half and were well and truly into the arm wrestle and had a great chance to pile the pressure on and he bombed it. I knew they'd score from the next set and they did and the rest could have been predicted by anyone, disappointing but we'll bounce back, eventually.

Seymoor was awful! but deserves another chance as he was so good against Rovers in the second half of the pre season freindly.

Quote: PAUL M "The one problem I have with that partnership is pace, we don't have any. It needs work, lots of work.

One thing I would say (yes I know it needs time) but Wigan's halves looked great apparently tonight (yes it was Salford). Extremely well drilled and knew their role well.

Why can't Gentle get ours working that quick?'"

That was against a poor Salford side, when they played a good side last week there half backs looked terrible and wouldn't of made a break all day...

How many chances does he get though? He was great against Rovers on Good Friday last season but poor most of the year.

That's 3 awful games out of 3 for Holdsworth.. Think he's shaping up to be our worst HB signing ever TBH...

Wasn't impressed when we signed him and seen nothing from him so far... Can't think of many teams with a worse HB partnership than us.. Couple that with our average looking forwards including the increasingly terrible Ben Galea we've got a pack that gets beaten!!

When is it to early to........

Seymour doesn't deserve another chance as he's simply not good enough and never will be. He has none of the attributes a scrum half requires. He's slow, very slow, a bad passer/kicker and a woeful tackler combined with a severe lack of leadership qualities. Have I missed anything?

That won't work though as already proved. I think we have to give these two another go but start with Hazza so that we get our forwards on the front foot and going forward thereby giving these two more time when they receive the ball. Last night they were taking slow passes - and giving some - and having to go backwards to find space. Annoyingly as Clarky and co delighted in saying they were getting "sacked" but it's because our forwards and acting half play from Houghton is so slow and poor.

We had chances in the first five minutes to lay down a marker when we had possession in their 20. We didnt look like scoring. Loosing all 3 of the Tongon Mafia we lack any bite in the forwards. Any scrum half would have been made to look ordinary last night behind the pack. We lack size which I it think will cost us. Leeds dont have the biggest pack yet we couldnt handle them. We have more squad depth but it just seems average depth all round.

These two need time. How long have Sinfield,Burrows and Mcguire been together at Leeds-6/7 years. If after half a dozen games the situation has not improved then look at changing it.Keep Houghton and Heremaia as hookers as last night when Heremaia come on we did look better. After one match keep the faith.

As a neutral to me that was telling - on their line 3 times in first 7 mins. Not may teams with top 6 aspirations would have come away with 0 points. Early days though.

We have no forwards with an offload without Watts which is a worry and no one looked like breaking the line

Despite the half backs not playing well your much vaunted pack looked poor. Bailey and Peacock dominated every ruck and the number of offloads showed that. When your pack is beaten halves can rarely play ( look at us all of last season)

Kicking game was poor but see above.

Other thing is Leeds looked much more prepared than HUll, fitter, slicker, and more organised.

That could be due to having a more a settled team or better organisation and pre season planning.

What would concern me is if Ellis has had a foot injury that was not picked up by the medical staff and that he aggravated last night. I cannot believe he broke his foot warming up. If that is the case someone needs a b@ll|@cking.
