And if a back got injured?
Agar had to cover all scenarios, having another second rower on the bench when you've already got a backline of Yeaman, Hall, Whiting and Turner would give the side nothing if anyone of those got injured.

[quote="Wellsy13":1juz9zgo]To us REAL fans, there's no better feeling than winning competitions. Getting to a final is next. Then a top 6 finish or semi-final appearance. Then I suppose the derby counts as the most important league fixture.
Us real fans don't look over our shoulder at our neighbours and do whatever we can to get one over on them. We look at the bigger picture. And this is the reason why Rovers are and will forever be considered a small club. Because their fans and board would rather get one over on Hull FC above anything else.

Maybe one of the backs was carrying a knock? It made sense to have a back on the bench after the bruising game on Friday.

Manu has played centre. At one point we had Dowes, Radford, O'Meley and Moa all on the pitch. They can't have all been playing prop, so must have been out of position. IMO it would have been more beneficial having another forward, but don't think it would have made any difference anyway.

TKOAH, it's good that you are being even-handed in your assessment of today. I understand that Agar has baffled us in the past with his bench selection and rotations but today was a completely different matter.

Our best player so far this year wasn't playing. Like people say Lyne was hammered by Jodie Broughton so what top players like Hicks and King could of done to the kids confidence. The team benefited more from having Whiting on the wing then it would have having him in LF. Everyone calls from him to play LF but no one has actually seen him play there so no one knows how good he would be, our forwards are our best asset and our team in the middle has been formidable why would you want to change that?

| Here's a shocker .....
But to put Liam Kent into a game against Anderson, Harrison, Morley, Carvell and Wood would have been more damaging than playing Lyne against Wires backs.

We were in exactly the same position at this time last year. The performances against Crusaders, Salford and Hull KR do not reflect the ability we have on the pitch. We celebrated the derby win like we had just beaten the 1982 Aussie tourists. We have some very good individuals out on the park who have pedigree at the top level of this sport.
Our coach is simply out of his depth at this level. Both Hudds and Wire have made massive strides that can be attributed to a change of coaching staff.

| I don't think Agar did a lot (if anything) wrong today. To put Lyne in against the Wire three quarters would have been suicide. He had to name him on the bench because we were so short of options. Thought Agar got the timing right with the interchanges having been dealt a crappy hand losing Long so early.

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |

Quite. Losing Long played a major part in the interchanges today.
Well played Hull today you did not get the rub of the green.
