Don’t think what the fans think matters. It was said that when Myler took the job he told all the contracted players they can have a look elsewhere if they want as we want to rebuild. At a guess I’d say maybe Sutcliffe, Walker and Trueman probably looked for something in West Yorkshire. Trueman especially might be keen to move on and get some security because he’ll be in his last year and I’d be surprised if Hull want to offer him the same terms after AP’s comments about our salary cap management and specifically Carlos and Truey contracts. Wakefield have a serious investor maybe they’ll take the risk and offer him a deal similar to what’s on here with a couple of extra years.

From what I've heard that was originally the case but apparently deal has been signed, apparently we were waiting to finalise a deal for another half so there was some pressure to make a decision on Trueman. Maybe hull felt we were the only club that were willing to take Trueman on as a marquee on the cap, I'm not sure who else would either because they are using the spots or can't afford to, flip side to the coin aswell is apparently Trueman is keen to link up with Powell again.

Either way, I doubt Trueman will be here, hardly feel like you are wanted by the coaches if they arr offering
you out.

It also makes sense to the future balance of the team if Abdul is coming to look for a running half.

To be fair I think that’s been the plan all along especially since they signed Abdull. Sailor was the main target and then we saw an opportunity with Lam and like I said I’m sure they went for Sullivan too. All fit that bill as that type of player a bit of zip and ability to run the ball. It’s gutting that we’ve missed out on all 3 but I’m sure an obviously decent amount of salary cap and quota space has been set aside for a ball running halfback that we’ve missed since Kelly.
