I did just that and the initial impact is Gales heel on Lomax’s shin then goes up to his knee/calf. Grade D, 4 matches.

A-B Kicks opponent – light contact
C-D Kicks opponent – makes full contact
Wonder what grade Gale will get. What constitutes light contact

Not sure I agree but I'd be amazed if he doesn't get c-d.
RFL on a mission to stamp down on any foul play accidentally or not

I think the way the RFL and Disciplinary deal with what they seem to view as the lesser clubs and in particular both Hull clubs we will be dealt with harshly as usual.
Despite Gales previous record I can see him being given 4 games as the off field referee who made the call deemed it deliberate which I think its fair to say is a stretch to claim as such, bit like saying any mistake a ref makes is a deliberate act to influence a game which we know would be rubbish. Had it been a St's player I don't doubt they would have been banned but probably only for a 1 game possibly 2 at a push.
As for the card shown to Wynn I have to say I think that was a garbage call and watching the footage back Wellsby knew exactly what he was doing as he played the ref, feigned he'd been hurt then jumped up as if by magic. This is something that needs taking out the game before we end up like football with players diving and feigning injury in every tackle.
It will be interesting to see just how impartial and consistent the RFL and Disciplinary panel is with the clampdown and neck flex in regards to the shove on Swift which Kendall penalised St's for yet no card even though in other games players have seen yellow for less.
After watching the first 2 rounds I am concerned as to the future of the game or where the RFL are taking the game as the standard and performance from the officials has been so inconsistent its almost as if they all have different rule books. If video ref's are going to make calls that the on field ref hasn't then the game is in real danger, we might as well do away with the officials and just have ref by wire in that case. If they can not have video ref's at all games then they shouldn't have them at any.

| Quote: Rugby Raider "It’ll be interesting to see how the Discipinary Committee deal with Gale.
I can’t recall seeing a player going in to challenge a kicker with their foot in all my time watching the game.
That said, it wasn’t a two footed lunge and he did look like he was pulling his foot away. However, he still made contact.
It was a stupid challenge and I suspect he’ll get two matches, but it still wouldn’t surprise me if they gave him more as they have nothing to benchmark it with. Hopefully, the fact he got sent off in the first half, might be taken into account with any ban.
I hope Lomax is ok. Some are saying he milked it. However, Gale made contact with his foot and he received a cut to his shin. Anyone who’s played sport will know that that’s instantly painful. A bit like when you stub your toe, instant pain, but a minute later you’re ok to carry on.'"
Jordan Lane's charge down against KR a year or 2 back was identical, only difference was he got the ball not the leg. Everybody thought that was fantastic play.

| Just a feeling, but I reckon they'll throw the book at him, the VR said it was deliberate.

You can see on the picture the back studs hit just above the sock. The other studs likely catch below the knee and end up on the thigh. The blood thing isn't an issue either, flesh wounds don't always bleed quickly, especially not when it's about 3 degrees. It's not a conspiracy this, it definitely happened.

| He's got 3 matches, AND referred to the tribunal. Could be two separate charges.
2 month ban being rumoured.

Unfortunately I think you maybe right but I would seriously question how a VR can say it was deliberate? I think its fair to say that Gale is one of those players that doesn't go out with any intent or to deliberately injure a player. I would say it was most definitely careless and not sure I even go as far to say it was even reckless. Is you watch a lot of charge downs when a player tries to close down quickly many have a leading leg to help when they push themselves off they don't jump like a salmon. It wasn't a two footed kung fu effort and was nothing more than a genuine effort to charge the ball down that he got wrong though as its one of the clubs from Hull you can bet it will be given maximum penalty.
I hope that they also review the performance of Kendall & Moore in regards to two incidents that the on field ref didn't call but was told in his ear resulting in a yellow and red cards of which the yellow was a joke as Welsby played the officials and purposefully lifted his own standing leg which resulted in him going down. When you watch the incident back he plays he's hurt holding his neck but then suddenly jumps back up as though nothing has happened. Did Wynn lift one leg? Yes but did he lift it above horizontal and waist height? No.

If that's true then the game of RL is just a joke and no longer the sport it was. I agree in player welfare but you can't officiate a physical sport with mambie pambie officials as we may as well just ask players to wear ribbons on their shorts and outlaw tackling altogether.

Grade C, 3 matches for lifting the player off the ground.
Grade D, "Behaves in any way contrary to the true spirit of the game (includes Dangerous Contact) -
Other contrary behaviour", tribunal.

| Laughable
The grade C is listed as 3 matches and the grade D is decided by tribunal. Its going to be 7+, I wouldn't be shocked if its something absurd like 10 in total.
