well the minimum sentence possible yet they were satisfied he actually said what he said. In the current climate of social media boycotts and what is happening in football, for a game so committed to all things equality and to stamping out discrimination its a typical RFL fudge. If anyone doubts our administration inability to run the game this has to be it. Bradford Bulls player George Flannigan was hit with a 10 game ban for a Grade F offense. So according to the RFL, a hit to the balls is worse than racist abuse. They'll claim it was an independent tribunal etc. but to send out the right message it had to be a strong stance if he was guilty, which obviously they deemed he was. With this coming just an hour after we hear that Wakefield Trinity staff have been receiving death threats call me old fashioned but I'm very disappointed with our game at present I'm afraid.

Have to say I agree with you on this. The RFL d as should have made an example of Clubb and banned him for a minimum of 13 games irrespective of his character witnesses. All it’s done is theoretically brush it aside and given the appearance of doing something about it. Giving a minimum punishment and a £500 fine is quite honestly a joke. The RFL had the opportunity to stand up and show it will not tolerate this but they’ve failed and shown they are very weak and the disciplinary panel has for me shown emphatically it is just not fit for purpose.
I’m not for one minute saying Clubb is a racist but the fact remains he has said it and he’s an idiot. It will be interesting to see if there is any public apology from Clubb and any mandatory education on this subject for him.
This great game never fails when it comes to shooting itself in the foot.

You have to seriously wonder if it had been a player of another team what the outcome would have been as I would put my house on it being far worse had it been a Hull, Rovers, Wakey, Cas Hudds or Salford player for example. Had it been a fan then no doubt the RFL would expect the club to issue a life ban no doubt.
I would say it also begs the question as sport that has a large number of players of said and similar origins what message the RFL have sent out to them.

I would imagine Clubbs real punishment for the offence will be when he steps back on the field of play.

As long as they don't grab his balls, they'd get ten matches.

What really bugs me about this and the statement that it was said ‘in the heat of the moment’ then if that really was the case why did he not apologise to Savelio at the end of the game? Instead he was absent which for me says more about Clubb than his character witnesses.

So if a fan uses a racial insult at a game “in the heat of the moment “, will they get a similar ban, or something more stronger and relevant?

Is this worth anything now?

Why does the RFL get all the criticism when the decision was made by an [iindependent [/itribunal chaired by His Honour Judge Guy Kearl QC ?

Rejected (Fash as well).

We just appealed in the heat of the moment, presumably.

I think the worst thing about this is the lack of apology or statement by Tony Clubb, we all make mistakes and say things we regret in the heat of the moment and these have consequences, but the fact he hasn't either apologised publicly shows the type of man he is.
