I agree with you. I think that his best game was that away match against St. Helens. Following that I think that there was talk [from the coaching staff] that he must control his aggression etc. I would like him to play his natural game and run hard and fast into/ at the other team and cut out the 'hop and skip' or whatever it is supposed to be, before he runs into an opponent.
He is a big lad, he should use his weight and he could do some damage. He has a few games to show Mr Pearson what he can do and you never know he might be kept on.

| Quote: Ivanhoe "Surely Mr Pearson will have seen what Richard Agar can do over the past few season [TV matches etc] and will have hear and read what many have had to say on the subject of the head coach, long before he [Mr Pearson] decided to buy the club?'"
Who knows? He admits his knowledge is limited to watching a few games on telly and the odd attendence at the KC.
His murmurings on this subject so far have not been encouraging, imo. And worse, if he doesn't do anything soon, any further signings will be Agar's - not the new man's.
Who will advise Pearson on the recruitment of a new coach [iif[/i it happens? Rule? Will he hire a consultant? Maybe Kath's recommended Gary again.

I think you're worrying about nothing, barring a miracle playoff run I'd be beyond amazed if Agar is still here next season. Pearson's track record in football proves he knows a loser when he sees one.

| It will be interesting to see how Lauaki plays elsewhere if he goes. Just hope that we don't have to wait until he's tearing it up for Wigan next year for AP to see that maybe the problem is our coach after all.

I think lauaki has been a big disapointment but i think if he moves on we will see a better player...which is a big shame..we all know he hasnt been used as he should have been.

Interesting, this. Lauaki is the obvious example, but I wonder what most of our players would like like playing for other teams under good coaches. Interesting that all three Hull players shone for the exiles, even though none have been the same since... oh, hang on...

I hope you're right and it would obviously make the most sense but we, as Hull fans, are often right to be a little pessimistic/overly concerned about all things B&W.

Especially where Agar is concerned!
How has he still got his job? Hopefully, AP will be the guy to see him for what he is and get rid at the first realistic opportunity. Even if that has to be after yet another poor season has finished.

| I think there are two Richard Agars.
There's the one that we and all other fans of the game see, he's the one who coaches the players, decides on team tactics and interchanges.
Then there's the other one, he's the obviously knowledgeable, vibrant, young British coach, who convinces his employers that he is and always will be the right man for the job. He just needs a little more time to build 'his' team and then we will be perpetual treble winners

| The thing that concerned me about the interview with Adam Pearson was when he said: "in rugby league it's all about players". If you speak to James Rule about how crap Agar is, he tells you the same thing (over and over) and he really believes it!!
Has Rule convinced Pearson that Agar is a great coach and it's down to player recruitment?? I think he has, BUT can't see Adam going along with it for too long, maybe one more season. Get rid of the coach and at least a thousand will come back overnight I'm sure.

| Pearson is nobody's fool,He'll know full well what needs doing before he handed over a penny. He'll have sat down and looked hard at the club, sought advice, and lots of it about were we as a club are lacking. Now anyone with an ounce of knowledge of the game will have told him our coach is out of his depth. He's hardly going to walk through the door,6 games before the end of the season and tell Agar to clear his desk,he'll see this season out and i think we'll see a strategic climb down by Agar and he'll walk. Anyone who thinks AP has just paid out a few million quid without seeking extensive advice is deluded and doing the man a great disservice.
