Griffin was the obvious choice. A physical runner of the ball with a good step, a strong fend and an explosive nature over a short distance, Griffin’s skill set has long convinced Radford the ex-Salford man’s utility value can be a big asset to Hull.


“I’ve got that utility tag now. It means I’ll probably be in the team every week, but also means I could be in a different position each week, so that’s tough,” explained Griffin.

I’ve not watched the game back yet, but I thought Shaul was mom, I know he and Manu were getting interviewed by Sky after the game.

I would have given it to Savelio but Shaul was a good choice too. Very solid team performance in this opening match. Leeds were just not up to the same level.

Liligiifo Sao for me Fred, he seemed to be everywhere, but as you say a very solid performance, Sav was outstanding as well.

Watched the game back again last night and Sao was very good. Hungry for involvement and the pre-season buzz about him looking justified.
Andre excellent and thought Griffin was another standout.

It was a good day out Wiz, once you found a pub to sit in, but it’s a shame the away end in a such a nice ground has no cover, everyone got a right soaking.

Took advantage of the newish bar area behind the North Stand in second half and kept dry.
Watched it on tv.

I'm sure that Leeds would love a covered stand at that end - more away support = ££, plus it would make it a complete four stand stadium. However there is just that narrow footpath between the back of the terracing and some residential gardens so no chance of a stand I'm afraid.
