| Quote: Dave K. "What is our lowest SL crowd? Spoke to a few people that normally pay on the day and aren't bothering. Out of the 6 that I normally go with, all with passes, only two of us are going.
I'm only going as I have nothing better to do and it gets me out of the house.
Something drastic needs to happen at the club or I really fear for our future.'"
Lowest SL crowd at the KC was 6576 for the 76-20 win over Leigh a couple of weeks before the 2005 Cup final. That followed three attendances of around 8000. Strange that crowds were low in the wake of the Cup run.
We had some crowds under 4000 at The Boulevard in 1999.

| Great post Staffs FC.
A battle-cry is needed. A pity our coach doesn't instill that passion.

I meant at the KC, around 8000 I reckon there tonight which should send out a message, if we lose and again next week the Cas crowd will be less than 5K.
Think it was money the reason of the poor crowds in the cup run, but we were still Ok in the league, so it does seem strange

Just a month after that Leigh game we got 15,763 for the game against Warrington featuring Andrew Johns.
Certainly looking on course to fall below 9000 tonight.

normally I get a few chants going over in the east near the south stand, but tonight I will be sitting there in silence. whether it will make much difference or not I don't know (unlikely as its becoming more of a morgue these days for obvious reasons)

Pearson finally admitted in the mail the other day what most have suspected for a long time that pass holders who don't turn up and corporate tickets (aka the infamous tickets the SMC buy off us) are counted whether they turn up or not. So expect 9k to be announced but I reckon as low as 8k will actally be in the ground.

Whether it's Yeaman or anyone else I've had enough of reading how we're not far away and the league is condensed etc. etc. Where is the confidence that 'the squad can be much better' exactly coming from ? As for the idea that we've been playing OK in the matches previous to Hudds it surprises me how they think they can pull the wool over supporters' eyes in such a fashion. We've played OK in 3 possibly 4 games this season - the rest has been below standard - some like last week off the scale. But the real thing that gets me is this idea that our players and coaches talk about not having enough desire and enthusiasm on such a regular basis. Put another way this is actually a pretty disgraceful admission that they are going to work on match day (and therefore more than likely in the week as well) not really being d about the result or their individual and collective performance.
What needs doing is for the players and coaches to collectively shut the **** up and actually go out there and produce to the best of their ability week in and week out. I'll be going again tonight but don't blame others for not doing so - when representatives of the club effectively admit that they're not putting anywhere near enough effort and enthusiasm in from their side then why would they think that supporters must do so ad infinitum?
So - stop chucking the ball sideways to the next man along without committing anyone in front of you. Instead of standing with your finger up your rear make a decoy run when the half gets near the line. Run three times harder into the collision in attack and defence and chase and challenge for the kicks like you see other professionals in other teams doing on a regular basis. Fight hard to get up and play the ball at every tackle like your life depends on it, and back up the forward drives to make the opposition actually make some decisions that might therefore mean they get some of them wrong.
In summary STOP TELLING US IN THE MEDIA THAT IT WILL GET BETTER AND WE DON'T HAVE TO WORRY BECAUSE THE LEAGUE IS CLOSE. INSTEAD GO OUT AND REPRESENT HULL FC (A CLUB YOU ARE PRIVILEGED TO BE PLAYING FOR IN ITS 150th YEAR) AT THE STANDARD REQUIRED FOR SUPER LEAGUE. PUT IN THE MAXIMUM EFFORT POSSIBLE WHICH IS THE ABSOLUTE BASE MINIMUM THAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING EVERY WEEK WITHOUT FAIL.
If you do that then you might find that playing at home becomes more enjoyable and the empty seats start filling again. At Hull FC we've seen some brilliant players play for us over the years and there's no doubt that the current staff structure from the coaches downwards is way off the level of some of the teams we've seen in the past. But in actual fact at Hull FC if the fans see the desire and enthusiasm for the shirt and for them then they will support the team through wins and losses. We can cover to some extent for a lack of pace and strike and skill if every man works his tits off for the cause. I don't understand why we're having to ask for this because it should be a given, but putting that to one side now's the time to break out of this morass of crap and start putting down some standards that this great club and its supporters deserve.'"
Superb post!
The club's media and PR is another area that is completely below par, we all know they are a business and have tickets to sell, but the fans aren't mugs and spin like that article is ridiculous. I still can't belive they were plugging 2016 season tickets on Facebook last Saturday less than 24 hours after the team was booed off at halftime and full time!

Great post. Its time for the players to stop making excuses and to start performing. Another lacklustre performance tonight is not acceptable. A nervy win is not acceptable and I certainly don't want to read a similar HDM article this time next week.

He didn't say that he said corporate and complimentary, so everyone who comes through the gate is counted.

Outstanding post Staffs. I had a very similar reaction to you when reading the latest article. Radders article also wound me up. Particularly this quoteThe response has been good so far this week and it has to be.'"
Whoopdy-do! Don't we get told something like this every week?!

| If people are sick of reading articles like that then just don't read them, nobody forces you to. Does anybody really expect the players & coaches to say anything other then what they have? Yes we'd all rather they do their talking on the pitch but that doesn't sell papers.

You're right, I should stop reading them but I'm a sucker for punishment I guess (which is why I'm going to the game tonight ). And whilst I agree with you to an extent, it just seems to be the same old articles and comments regurgitated every week and I can't help but wonder if there is a different approach to it all. What that is though, I don't know.
