So Reece Lyn - surprised there is a not a thread on him this week like there has been about Sharp. According to the radio he made a howler from a kick off which resulted in a try for them....'"
To be fair, Lyn has the excuse of being only 18 and having very limited SL experience.

True but I don't think he is even close to being ready for SL and don't see what he brings to the side. Sharp has made mistakes but if he is to be dropped then i'd rather have Whiting or Turner on the wing than Lyn.

Can't say I've seen enough of either this season to give an informed opinion. There might be a case for saying that Lyn will only become (fully) ready for SL by playing a few games and learning from his mistakes. Sharp, it could be argued, has had long enough to learn from his.
Whiting outside Gleeson should be a very effective defensive partnership, at least.

Hit the nail on the head Paul..
Watched this lad 4 years now, and yes he has speed to burn.. but his all round game is years off imo!!
What goes through Agars head on who he picks is beyond me!!!

Tbh mate I am going against my own feelings about young players by saying this about Lyn as I fully believe we should be promoting young players more and more but, he just does not look ready. Other players his age in SL look far more accomplished. I have never seen him sprint with ball in hand but having pace is just not going to be enough for him.

Until we get the whole of our right-side defence sorted, it's difficult to judge either Lyne or Sharp. I do believe that consistently playing outside of a genuine right centre like Gleeson, instead of any body that Agar has previously seen fit to drop in there, can only benefit the development of Lyne & Sharp, in both attack and defence.
As for putting Whiting on the right wing: if Gleeson makes a break in our 20, he'd be able to stop, roll & spark up a fag by the time Whiting caught him up

| Certainly isn't helping anyone chopping and changing week in week out. Takes time to build up a partnership, whether that is your halfbacks or a wing/centre pairing. Yes Sharp has made a few howlers but he has also had a lot of changes in centre (4 centres in 9 games.)

Not sure without checking? Plenty of young players in SL this season making their mark though.

I have often wondered what, if any, individual coaching Whiting has received in an effort to address his lack of burst speed?
I'm guessing the answer could well be zero

APPROX that age range yes. The only kids that i can think of that look exceptional in Super League at Reeces age are Clarke and Evans. There are others at 19 and 20 but a couple of years extra development are massive at that stage of a young players career.
Reece has been pushed through the Hull system too quickly and it is going to hinder him long term unless it is addressed.

I seem to remember talk of a sprint coach prior to Agar taking over. Maybe he used to be even slower...
