Most clubs run with 2 good assistants.
I think it's wishful/fanciful thinking from some regarding Grix.
He was always on a hiding to nothing. On the whole he has improved the team but he's playing with the poor hand he's been dealt.
I'm happy for him to have his 2nd year and work in tandem with Last under Cartwright. |

Personally thought Grix has done ok.
He’s got young kids not ready for SL,
Most of the rest are championship level players.
Every week the selected 17 players have changed due to injury and suspension.

I don't really agree with the smug part, but I certainly don't like the way he singles out players (Balmforth especially) whilst others seem to be immune from any criticism whatsoever. He also seems like an excuse maker to me, always looks to shift the blame, calling out players for their lack of accountability whilst not having any himself. I know he's been dealt a rubbish hand, but he doesn't display many of the qualities I look for in a leader, not in public anyway, I don't know what he's like in the dressing room obviously. |
