Really looking forward to this one. I go there for work now and again and really like the city. St James is right in the city centre, ashort walk from the train station & plenty of good bars/restaurants to help make a weekend of it. The people are great too, very friendly. Good choice.

For purely selfish reasons I'd have preferred Coventry, but Newcastle is a solid choice. Stadium is located centrally and there are plenty of hotels, pubs, clubs, etc.

Hopefully more originality with the fixtures this year, not just the same as this season (apart from Catalans v Huddersfield instead of London and Bradford respectively).

Relegation next year means an extra fixture is potentially even more unfair to some teams. If we must have an uneven fixture list it should be based on final league placings this season.

While I get your point about making the event more 'fair' fixture wise, FC versus Salford or Wakefield isn't going to get thousands of our fans up the A1 like the derby would, same as i'm not sure Saints-Cas would get as many Saints fans there as say Saints-Wigan or Saints-Warrington.

I don't think the fixtures matter too much as many go for a weekend of rugby and if we get 6 evenly contested games it would be enjoyed much more.

Please, please give the derbies a miss for at least a couple of years. We can all go up to Newcastle on the lash and relax without shredding the nerves.

I agree. Salford v Rovers and Wakefield v Hull sound much more enjoyable and less stress.
