Hope your right.

| Quote: A unknown superstar "Why does Crookes have the right to start before Lineham? Imo Lineham looks more of a threat than Crookes and just like Lineham will have to prove himself at training etc. Would much rather go with Lineham from the off.'"
Personally believe Crookes at this stage of both players careers has done a bit more to be given the nod. Lineham will be groomed to be Briscoe's replacement. Lineham still hasn't done a full year training yet.

| I reckon I have seen Lineham and Crookes play about the same number of games, from what I have seen Lineham is far superior to Crookes.
I would bet with anyone that if both are fully fit Lineham will play more games than Crookes next year.
Some players you can just tell they have it (like when Briscoe game on the scene), I feel the same about Lineham.

| Seen lineham loads with 20s. Think he's a star in the making don't get me wrong but his 1st team run couldn't have been smoother. Team playing well and confident and not under much pressure. He still raw in a few areas. Or was. Just saying people are in danger of setting him for a fall. Crooks will start due to experience and a massive head start. Lineham only just had boot off and had first light run last week. Be after Christmas probably before 100% full training

| Quote: the artist "good luck to him, he enjoyed his time with us and maybe we regenerated his career a bit. he will get a good reception when he returns.
as others have said we have good wing options and if lineham never got his injury we wouldn't have signed him anyway.
by the way i wish the usual suspects would give young jason crookes at least a chance to perform in a good team, and with a good coach before writing him off, why can't people learn that under gentle players (especially young ones) seem to take their game to a better level. give the lad some time please'"
Foster and Lineham both made their first grade debuts in the Craven Park Derby didn't they?

| Quote: Staffs FC "Crookes is quick and pace is a big deal on the wing.'" It is however he will probably be 1 of the shortest and lightest wingers in the league and whenever I have seen him play he tends to get dominated on kick returns due to this lack of size.

| It will be Crookes place to lose because of his previoius Super League experience.
After that it will be down to form and I think Lineham has a lot of potential.

| Quite simply, next year's starting winger will be who performs best in the eyes of Peter Gentle over approx 3 months of pre-season training and a couple of warm up matches. That may be either Crookes or Lineham.
It will then be upto them to keep their place.

| It's a good job Frasier's about to keep everyone in check.
Is Lineham back in pre-season, or is he still injured/doing rehab? Quite a bad injury wasn't it?

| Crookes needs to be given a chance, he's very quick and looks a good player. Personally I think Lineham is our next best after Briscoe but, is still very inexperienced. Looked great last season though.

| I think Lineham and Crookes are both good prospects and with Briscoe we have three very good wingers which we will surely need as one of them will get injured at some point.
I was amazed how well Lineham slotted in when he got a run in the team last year and think he will do well. Crookes is very quick and there is no substitute for pace so far as wingers are concerned.

| i think you guys will be very underwhelmed with crookes, been part of bulls 1st team for 3- 4 year and only showed glimpses last season of been a decent winger, mainly thanks to playing outside Lulia

| If Crooks' main attribute is his pace then he's in trouble, Lineham is as fast, if not faster. Add in to that his strength and his ability bringing the ball back I can't see Crooks getting in ahead of him.
To counter that, I haven't seen enough of Crooks' defensive work and Lineham hasn't been severely tested in this regard either, which (positional play & catching especially) is a very important part of a wingers job.

I think we are all going to need to watch our spelling so as not to inadvertantly confuse Jason Crookes and Ben Crooks.
