There have been precious little good quality sitcoms in recent years. The Beeb tend to go for those God awful safe family friendly comedies usually starring Caroline Quentin or Will Mellor.
The 1970s were the golden age of sitcoms, ironically when there were only three channels. You had Richard Beckinsale filming series of Porridge and Rising Damp pretty much back to back. |
