It needs to be a marquee signing though as for me Ellis is our only marquee signing for 2013 and pass sales will continue to stall unless the club match the ambition they keep talking to us about. So far they are no were near that in the names they have signed up so far.

I am inclined to agree with you. At present the signings we have made will probably secure our status as a 5/6 place club. However those expecting us to challenge the top 4 with the recruitment we have made are going to be disappointed imo. I still have faith in the current regime but in future they need to be a little bit more considered when dealing with the press, AP made some statement’s that the club are clearly finding difficult to fulfil. Expectations have been built and a bit of backlash from some quarters is now being suffered as a result.

Manu and Moa will be big losses but when you consider Moa played less than half the season and we've brought in Ellis, we haven't finished our recruitment for next year so don't understand why people are getting so worked up about it.

Which would suggest another 2 to come in, although it maybe that they are now including Watts (who was signed after the 6 to come in statement) and Pitts (young and English).

AP also intimated that we would be getting a new pair of halves, one of which is Holdsworth, the other was obviously Chase, with that now dead in the water, and nobody else better than Seymour available, personally I think we are done.

Talk of Dobson, Finch and Tommy Lulueia sp. is quite frankly pie in the sky, we have our upgrades for 2013 and will go with what we have now.

Whilst not quite what we were hoping for and certainly not a championship team, the rest i.e. Wigan, Warrington, Saints and Leeds are hardly tearing away with their signings. I think it's more a case of the leading pack falling back to us rather than us tearing it up to join them, either way the outcome is the same, in that we will be more competitive next season.......... But a silverware challenging side???????

If it hadn't been for an extraordinary run of injuries and a couple of complete brain-fart performances we'd have been top 4 this season. IMO our squad is already looking better (albeit not by a huge leap) and average luck with injuries could easily see us top 4. Challenging for silverwear might take longer.

We get nowhere near as much off rfl as any other club for the next 2 years, but our owner has said he wil put in the cash to let us still spend up to the cap.

It's a consortium consisting of two people, only one of whom has put any money up AFAIK. So effectively a single owner.

The Bulls will receive reduced funding from the RFL/SL for the next 2 years.

I don't think the Hull and Bradford case are anything alike, we asked if we could drop out of the top flight and start again from the bottom and Bradford have been asking for conditions keeping them in the top flight so I do not see your point. The bonus for Hull was the simple minded actions of your board to stop this happening and giving uncle Kath ammunition to cut their losses in Gateshead and buy one of the biggest names in RL on the cheap.
