| The bulls fans gave Hull a standing ovation when we ran onto the pitch in the game following the CC win in 2005 (and then hammered us with fat les scoring 6)

|
| I can understand clapping Bradford for their fans, I can understand clapping Widnes for not giving in and scoring the previous time at the KC. But I will not understand if we clap next Friday!

It's because I remember being at the Boulevard, watching what we all thought would be Hull FC's last game, it was gutting, and I wouldn't wish it on any fans. Ok people say, They wouldn't bother about us, or so and so wouldn't clap them on, but we are Hull FC, and are to my mind are wee bit special.
Thank you and good night!'"
Agreed! I clapped because this is Rugby League. Calling Hull soft for clapping a team with financial troubles?!? Please! I can't believe so many people agreed with him.

| Quote: hullbg "Yes I know Bradford are in trouble but I cannot remember ever clapping the opposition onto the field. Every game we play the opposition come out to a resounding BOO, but tonight because Bradford got themselves into trouble we clap them onto the pitch.
No chants at the oppositions circumstances, yet back in the day we would have been ribbing them all game. I am pretty sure Leeds wont be clapping them onto the field next week and rightly so.'"
Clapping in this case was a bit different, a one off as some of us shared their predicament, thats all. I put money in the box as I want to do a little bit to help keep a club alive. Its not the fault of the players or the fans. We could just do nothing of course and then do the same if another of the famous clubs go, and another. Then where will we be ??
And clapping a good try........thats nothing to do with their predicament its just a reflex reaction that sometimes happens when you see something very good in sport.
To me Its not a matter of thinking would they do the same for my club before I put a couple of quid in their save the Bulls fund.

You need to grow up. Those that clapped were showing their support for the fans going through a rough time It's not their fault, as we know ourselves.
And for their levelling try well as much as I was pi55ed off with hull for not stopping it it was great off the cuff supporting rugby.
People weren't supporting or encouraging Bradford but showing why rl is a close knit supportive community.

| I came over last night from Bradford expecting some stick (no offence intended!), and to some extent embarrassed by the way our problems have been handled in part..
I had a fantastic evening, the Hull fans and club were brilliant and a real credit to the sport..unfortunatly for me i also support Bradford City (what a week its been!) and would never see the solidarity we experienced tonight in football.
Good game, the usual head scratching moments for both sets of fans created by Alibert. Hopefully we will get to return the hospitality at Odsal later in the season, and both teams at full strength.
Best of luck for the season, i found FC very enjoyable to watch tonight, quick and mobile.

| What is wrong with showing a small amount of support for a club in trouble? The majority of the stadium clapped widnes when they got their first try against us, again to just show some support. I don't reckon any other teams fans would do that! We may be hated by every team but at least we support rugby league!

That was sarcastic clapping.......I didnt clap them on either and as for the leveling try....it was bloody bad defence by us and a bloody great big forward pass at the end of it.

The crow answered: "Sure, why not." So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the crow, and rested. All of a sudden a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it. | Really disappointed with some of the attitudes on here. The players and the fans cannot be blamed for the financial situation they are in. I am glad that we showed some compassion to their fans and thought it was one of those events that make rugby league so special. It reminds me when we played Sts in the CC semi and beat them. When we walked outside the Sts fans lined the street outside and applauded the Hull fans. Nice touch and that is what sport is all about for me.

| I don't think it's a case of becoming soft, I think it's a matter of respecting each rugby club and their players/fans and the sport uniting as one when a club is in difficulty.

which is garbage, Bulls are a failing business and should be left to their own devices under the current board, I have some sympathy for the sponge finger wavers, but not a lot.

No argument from me there. Wasn't too happy about it at the time. I was just trying to make the point that rugby league fans behave in a different manner to some in other sports (generally).

A rather short-sighted and sweeping statement.
Sure the Bradford board [iappear[/i to be at some fault for their current predicament - although I'm unaware of all the facts as are you.
As for the Bardford fans, they are not all "sponge finger wavers". They have supporters that have been following the club for donkey's years through good times and bad, just like all clubs.
I'm quite proud of the way the Hull FC supporters showed solidarity with their Bradford counterparts last night. It makes a refreshing change to get postive feedback rather than reading about fighting, beer throwing etc.
