Quite sceptical about all of this, seems to me that this will benefit one team (who are desperate) more than the other, I suppose only time will tell. Must say I do like Hudgell's little dig about Leeds, not one for mincing his words.

Don't see a whole lot of advantage for us in this. We don't need a friendly derby as there are three others in the season where we play for real. If our ambition is to be the best club in the country then we should have our own youth structure and be working hard to attract top talent to it based upon it being the best club to be at. If a combined junior set up makes it cheaper to run then that is the wrong place to be cutting costs and sends out the wrong signals. As for combined Hull v some international team it doesn't grab my attention at all - just another meaningless game and an opportunity to pick up injuries.

The eighties was a great time to be a RL supporter in Hull but I don't remember both clubs working in harmony then to achieve it - they both just had good sides on merit. That's the way forward now.

That for sums it up. If either team wants to be a top club and achieve silverware and success we both need to improve individually, us on the pitch with coaching & team side of things, HKR pretty much the same and more off the field work needed.

The idea of a meaningless friendly for me is pointless as we play them 3 times each season in meaningful games, the joint team against A N Other for me is a non starter too.

Seems to me only one club would benefit from this and that one isnt us. Off field our club is a stand out in SL, just on the field is were its gone wrong. If Hudgell needs help then let him get it from elsewhere.

I want to see Hull FC be successful and quite frankly couldnt give a monkeys about Rovers in that sense.
