A better coach would still get more out of the squad we have next season.

I'd be more than happy for us to finish say 6th next season, but play more attractive rugby and actually beat some of the big teams...that would then leave us better placed for a proper SL challenge the year after.

6 months ago we were a viable top 4 club with a decent (on paper) squad, AP bought us at the bottom of the market, and good luck to him!

I think Hudgey is enjoying signing all the players and therefore Kear may have to wait to see if Hudge wants the Rovers job himself first.

Gil Dudson is on around 25k at Crusaders and was happy with his new deal. Super Hudge has offered him 45k, 55k and 65k over three years

Not true mate and if Gil is telling you that he is fibbing..., try just over half, Hudgey is been pretty tight at the mo til he knows what he has to pay JM...

It was Howsey who was bragging about it and I know what Gil is on now but allowing for the exaggeration factor it will still be too much for an unproven 20 year old with serious drink and discipline issues dont you think Larry?

I think 25 grand is probably on the big side of right for Dudson at the moment, as you say whats the point of throwing more money at him just to boost his social life.., give him his equivalent and a nice incentive to prove his worth if you see some potential there....apart from Lloyd White , who is worth it.., struggling to see the desperation to sign these other Cru lads..not much improvement ,if any, on whats at Rovers now...

And the signing i am on about is an overseas lad who had some good days a few years ago but currently makes Senior look world class...

Corroborating evidence that Dudson is the man being that Gavin Miller - Legend says he would pick Dudson as his preferred signing of all Crusaders players - he has much previous for bigging up players just prior to them being confirmed signings for Rovers. Had to backtrack his views on Yeaman when he ultimately re-signed for FC, but you can't win 'em all.

Although Larry Billey is usually bang on with his knowledge I still think Dudson will be getting more than the 25k he has just signed for Crusaders on.

Howsey was happy to say 45, 55, 65 and even with exageration I would bet Hudgey is paying 35k+ for a player who has drink issues, behaviour issues and has not proven himself on the pitch yet.

And at the same time 3 or 4 more promising local kids will be winging their way to York and Hull Dockers.

Think your pretty bang on if certain ifs, buts and maybes are fulfilled...but we all know what happens there..
