Ive been saying Tansey to 7 for a while now but dont think i'd do that now. Playing him at 7 would mean he has to play the link man in a formal set play whilst playing at 1 allows him to be involved at the end of the set play and then do what he wants creatively. I agree with the masses now that it might stifle his game moving to the halves.

Maybe it could affect his game, but with Long missing for a while why not give it a try there ? We'll never know how he'll do until he plays at 7. But I reckon with the failed partnerships of Horne, Washbrook, Berrigan etc.

Depending on what bench Agar picks it looks like one of Horne, Washy, Berro or Whiting are going to miss out completely this week. Looks like Agar has a tough call to make and whoever gets the shirts at last knows he has competition to keep it!

But a lot of our set plays go through Tansey, if you then move him somewhere else in that play you have to replace him. We don't have anyone who can do that.

Like I say I don't think it will happen and probably for the reasons you mentioned, but nothing wrong with trying with Long out for a while.

I definitely see your point of wanting to try something different in the halves as nothing seems to have worked. But moving Tansey has more negatives than positives for me.
Think Agar might give Berro another chance at 7, we could see Whiting moved back to right centre if Calderwoods back and Turner at 6 with Horne at 7 (worked against Cas at home) with Berro interchanging with Houghton. I would like to stress that this is not my preference.

Forgot Horne and Turner played halves together earlier in the season and i suppose that is a viable option but that said I think Turner is making the right centre berth his own and it would be a shame to change that.

Agreed. Think Whiting will get the bench spot and Washy will miss out.
