Quote The Hollywood Frasier="The Hollywood Frasier"Thats the big thing for me as i cant think of a single player who has improved whilst Agar has been in charge. You have Brown taking a player from NL in Lunt and turning him into a possible England bolter at the end of the year. Kevin Brown looks a totally different type of player as does Crabtree. For Wigan you have Roberts, Coley and O'Loughlin all of whom look totally rejuvenated under McGuire.'"
He hasn't improved any player whatsoever. Looks at Hudds, Brown is now a really potent ball player, Crabtree now looks like a biug tough forward, players like Raleigh have imprved their game. Like you mentioned, Lunt looks to be a cracking player. Hudds still have their limitations as a side but they are very tough to beat and very rarely do they not turn up. It's all down to one man, Nathan Brown.
Wigan look stronger and faster than any other side in the comp. Fielden is completely rejuvenated and every player is playing at a new level. Tomkins the other night for his try, looked like he was resting and yet timed his run to perfection and went straight between two men. He did not need a half back to tell him to do that he simply called the play himself. Defensively they are superb and maintain a really good linespeed througout the match. Again it's all down to one man, McGuire.
There are some really good young coaches aswell as some proven ones in the NRL and I am sure they would be interested in coming over especially with the size of a club like ours and the squad we have aswell as the young players coming through. So lets do the right thing and get one on them. Agar will probably get us into the top 8 and possibly the 6 but he is not the man to turn us into a top side.
I still think players like Horne and Yeaman can improve, infact I am certain of it, these coaches would spot the small things in their game and make them better players aswell as ensure that Briscoe, Hall and Lyne etc reach their potential because personally I am not sure they will under the current set up.
