| Nothing justifies £12bn+ on a 3 week sporting event that will leave a massive stadium, pool and other infrastructure as its legacy. Not to mention a sporting village and media centre.
I'd sooner see Police, Nurses and Carers given the benefit of massive funding than someone I've never heard of collect a silver medal for archery.

Didnt seem to affect the previous Citys who have had the Olympics does it.We may as well not bid for anything and become a backwater country.

Problem with people like 3days is they think the 12bn has gone on the stadium, they have no concept of hoe regeneration works, or that a portion of the money has been raised privately.
There will be no "giant stadium" left, and the facilities that do remain will benefit future generations, they are the kind of people that lament the demise of the milkman, pit poneys, davey lamp and powdered egg.

Hull has been planning for this for a long time too, the infrastructure is an interesting point. What in particular do you think isnt up to it?

| most of those city's already have stadiums over 30,000 aswell so the extra expense can be put into better facility's rather than ground upgrades

nothing to do with the WC bid, any city that has spent money already has made a mistake, until you get confirmed as a bid city then you just keep the capital aside.
based on a conversation I had today, I think Hull will be in the twelve named as hosts, we await Tuesday.

which world do you live in?
So, of the city's bidding, who has shelled out on trams in recent times?
Leeds?
Derby?
Sheffield was ages ago, paid for by Meadowhall
Leicester
Nottingham was years ago, paid for by Europe
deal in facts, not the mush between your ears.
