Poor man management by Agar. What must Craig be thinking when Agar states that 'we are short of backs'. His confidence must be in tatters when a loan player is selected for the squad and he his dropped to the reserves.'"
his confidence was already in tatters, why do you think horney is fullback

| Whiting to 6, Hall at centre, leave Horney at full back. Motu on the bench to cover arrangements.

| I9 was at the U21 s last saturday and Craig was the reason we beat Wire.
He was solid all the game and made a 60 yard dash for there line which lifted the rest of team. We went on to score off that set and Hall scored as well, he is looking sharper and more relaxed.
Play him he has pace and can do the unexpected, the mistakes happen Yeaman was bad in his early days. Give the lad a chance in his proper position and maybe, just maybe he turn out good.

Spot on Ian, play the lad at centre and give him a run of games.

| I put in the Squad/team for Leeds thread that i'd play Hall at stand off.
Reason been is we'd have his speed and attacking ability back in the side, and he can be covered by the forwards in the defensive line. At centre he is still to exposed to his weakness in defence. I'd leave Horny at full back and i'd play Motu Tony in the centres to ease him back in, he's strong in defence and tough going forward which i have no doubt he'd create scoring opportunities for Calderwood. I'd play Whiting at loose so that he has more time with ball in hand as opposed to recieving once every 6 sets while been out a centre. He'd could prodminantly attack the side of Tony and Calderwood and still create for Calderwood to score plus it leaves him free to roam elsewhere if needs be and like i say given him more time with ball in hand would only be benificial for the team and points scoring.

I believe one of CH's major issues is confidence, taking on the Leeds defence would be a challenge to say the least and not the wisest idea IMO.

There's not many people that shoot him down about things he's done with ball in hand, it's all about his D.
Playing him at 6 where he can easily shadowed in D by our forwards could well be the way to snap him out of this low he's been in. He knows as well as we do that with ball in hand he's a great plus for the side, been out at centre he's to exposed to his weakness. Giving him free roam of the park with ball in hand and covering him in defence could give him the confidence boost he needs.
I think putting him back into the centres especially against Leeds could damage the lad a lot more than he already is. Leeds offer a great threat out wide and puting him up against there backs could have a devastating effect, and not in the possitive sense either.

Fair points, still reckon you'd need to go into the game with confidence though, especially in such an important role.

I know what your saying mate but, what i'm trying to say is playing him in a role like this where he could be covered defensively is more likely to get him his comnfidence back as opposed to playing him in a position where he's exsposed.
He needs a game or a few games to regain his confidence or how can he regain it if he doesn't have that initial game. That's why i'm saying ease back in as opposed to throwing him in like lambs to the slaughter.
It's like when people say a player hasn't got the experiance to play, how can he get that experiance if the player doesn't play.
Catch 22 what do you do?
