And here is the solution. BUY BOTH OF THEM !!!!! I suggested this on another thread and got slated by some. lol bless them lol The key here may be One or Both of our overseas visa blocked signings getting turned down again. That may be blessing in disguise
I remember getting slated for saying put Rich Horne full back too as he's potentially best full back in the counrty and he's been rock solid at the back and starting to get into joining the line in attack too now and he ain't played there for 6 years. Once Raynor back our kick returns will be great and horne will get more opportunities closer to centre of pitch when raynor receives ball from kicks as he gets to middle, drags in extra defenders and has great offloads for horne to exploit.
Agree about general disappointment over Thorman. Brings nothing visible to the team so he must sure talk a damn good game in the other 166 hours 50 minutes they aren't actually playing a match every week.

| I'm struggling to comprehend those comments suggesting Whiting should be moved from the centre spot. I think long term he's a loose forward, but at the moment he's the best centre at the club. It's no coincidence that our right hand side has looked more solid in defence and more potent in attack since Whiting has been playing in the centre. Whilst we're as short of options as we are, he must stay there.
1) Horne
6) Tony
7) Berro
9) Houghton/Lee
13) Washy
Next bus back to Huddersfield) Thorman

Surely replacing Whiting with Berrigan who has played centre at a higher level than SL and moving Whiting to LF isn't that difficult to understand ? I agree that Whiting has done well and fully expected him to do so but he will do as well or better at LF. Why is LF long term for him ? He's 24 already.

Fair enough it's an opinion. After yesterday Thorman needs dropping and it's a way of getting all our better players on the pitch in the same team at his expense. Maybe Berrigan would offer even more of a threat than Whiting in the centre and maybe even form a better partnership with Calderwood than Whiting has ? Just a thought. Don't beat yourself up if you don't understand the reasoning.

Thorman didn't set the world alight but he wasn't as bad as people are suggesting. He only kicked twice to hand if I remember right (one of those was in the in-goal area) and placed some other great kicks. When he goes for a break there's never anyone on his shoulder and I can't remember him missing a tackle (might have to watch the game again to check that). So, he hasn't been great yet but he gets us around the park. Remember, if he had our full back-line around him, instead of all the stand-ins, he'd have more options from the backs. I'm not a massive supporter of Thorman but I think he gets a lot of undue stick.

I have stuck up for him all season but have to say yesterday was enough for me. Thought he did very little. Our kick tries were created by Washbrook (2) and Horne. For me Thorman doesn't impose himself on the game enough and at crucial times his kicking is just not up to it. He played really well away at Bradford and I've defended him on the back of that but in the end doesn't do it often enough. At times especially in defence he also seems to not go the extra yard in effort terms for the team as well. Just occasionally he offers up some pretty half hearted stuff.
FWIW I think Agar will stick with him as you argue but not good enough often enough would be my description of his season to date.

| I think Thorman gets the brunt of three years of frustration of not having a decent and consistant scrum half
I stil think he needs replacing at the end of the season but he's not doing too much of a bad job
I wasnt too confident before going into the game with cas so to come out with the 2 points is fantastic - Its a step in the right direction and with some quality players coming back into the team there should be more optimism amongst the fans !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game you watched seems to have been completely different to the one I did. And I have already watched it back from the recording - if anything, Thorman looks worse on second viewing.

Nope. It was Lee, Washbrook, Houghton, and Horne who got us around the park yesterday. Similar to the last few weeks in fact.

I've never been that impressed by him, but tried to give him a fair crack of the whip. Sadly he has not failed to disappoint me. He is cack.
And I don't often say that about a player, either.

Pretty much agree with all that. Whiting/Calderwood look a decent combination and would be madness to move him now. There is a question as to whether the other centre should be Yeamo or G Horne though once Raynor gets back. I like the line-up you've got there and that would be what I'd go for, only question would be whether to swap Tony and Horne for me.

| thorman is terrible. Other than a half decent (not as good as some are suggesting) performance against bradford he has been poor all season. Also, he's getting worse, not better. His much lauded kicking game has been worse than average and his decision making with ball in hand is shocking for someone of his age and experience. I've never rated him and was glad when we missed out on him the other 2 times we tried to sign him. Personally, I'd rather we gave berrigan a go in the halves with R Horne, washy to loose man and motu back in the FB spot

I actually wonder if his 'good' game against Bradford was more due to the fact that Bradford were so slow that afternoon they made Thorman look like Usain Bolt!

The problem with Thorman is that he is asked to do a job that he cant, he never has or never will be a 7 in my opinion. He isnt really a decison maker or play maker, he dosnt give as any real direction and his long range kicking game is pretty poor, yet this is what hes asked to do. I remember him being very effective when he was at London and Huddersfield, but he was always used as more of a second reciver rather then first, and when he came up with something it was usually when he ran at the line, or made an assist or forced a repeat set with his short range kicking game.
I think we have two players in the squad who would be better suited to the role that Thorman plays in Horne and Berrigan, I also think Thorman could have a positive impact on the side in a different role, but at the moment hes not.

For a girl....you talk lots of sense!
As good as Richard Horne is in ANY position you play him, I think he's one of the top two English Stand-offs, Pryce being the other.

He was excellent in the pre-season friendly at Headingley. Before pre season I had low expectations which were falsely raised in that game, now back to where I started unfortunately. I think the ability's there, but the consistency just isn't.

| Richard Horne has done well at full back however I still see Motu Tony as our number 1.
For the Warrington game I am hoping for
Tony
Calderwood
Whiting
Yeaman
Raynor
R Horne
Berrigan
With Houghton and Lee sharing the hooking responsibilities.

Not long term for him, long term for the team when we have better options in the centre. If Berro replaces anyone in the centre it should be Yeaman. Whiting has been playing much better and, frankly, his combination with Calderwood is one of the few positives in our side at the moment. Why change one of the few things that's working?
Berrigan needs to play a more pivotal role than centre given our current predicament with lack of creativity.
