| Short term loan signing is no risk either way really it’s another body and has looked decent in spells running the ball.
What bothers me is that Salford obviously have someone lined up until the end of the season for the quota place who they obviously think is going to be better. If that’s the case the you’d think we should be able to attract someone better too or should be in the conversation for whoever Salford have lined up instead of facilitating them an upgrade.
Same with Cust, I actually think he’s got potential to show more then he has over here so with a bit of luck think it might be a great pick up, but still Salford obviously think they’ll get an upgrade. They get it right more than we do.

Just on that middle paragraph, it depends on where Salford are potentially strengthening and contact length.
We've taken King off their hands. They might be signing a 13 or 9 in a multi year deal when we have players signed up in those positions for next year. It's not as simple as Salford are after player X so we should be in for them.

Nope it’s not always that simple but I’m interested to see what they have up their sleeve with this. That said, there’s not many positions that we couldn’t use real quality in even on a multi year deal. If they’d get a game in Salfords first choice 17 for 2025 I’m sure they’d get in ours.

We will be definitely be spending more on the squad next year, going from 1 to 3 marquee players. Hopefully further investment in backroom staff.'"
Depends on the Aussie signings really, at the moment we won’t be anywhere the cap like Sky had us this season. If there is going to be a change in ownership we are obviously in a bit of limbo, Adam won’t want to be spending big and the potential new owner won’t want to put money in until it’s finalised, hence the toned down recruitment and spend. I’m still hoping we get something sorted in time to really effect 2025 from the off. As we’ve seen there’s a real lack of quality mid season available.

They’ve got the much better deal bringing Bullock in and now a playmaker essentially in exchange for King. I’d have said we should have done the same but no way would Wire have let us have Bullock and I’m sure both players would prefer Salford for location and play off chance. I don’t know Custs injury situation but maybe Salford could do us a favour and let us take him before the deadline?

Depends if Nikorima wanted a deal for next year too. We've signed Cust who will do a similar role. No point in having 2 quota players signed up for one role.

| Imagine if we went from a spine of:
Walker, Trueman, Brown, Houghton, Fash to Sailor, Lam, Abdull, Cust, Asiata
the Lam deal sounds a long way off though

| [list Quote: Dave K. "Do you pay loan signings, I honestly don't know, are Rochdale paying Harmans wages for example?'"
From what I gather, obviously it depends on the negotiations, but the team signing the player on loan pays a percentage of the wage and his parent club pays the rest.
Again, the percentage would depend on the negotiations

| Regarding the recent loan signing, lets be honest at this stage of a season it is likely a very difficult task to get players in on loan particularly if it is just until the end of the season with no deal likely following for 2025. I would add that regardless of releasing Pele & Ockunbor had we not lost Ashworth to injury and Sao playing jabbed up & losing Reynolds we possibly may have seen the season out with what we had. The fact is we have a very very lightweight team currently and need to get some size in and King Vuniyayaywa does that, ok he may no be the greatest but he has to be better than playing low on numbers and size. Yes we could have promoted Gardiner and Laidlaw to really see what they can do but we also have to think that Reynolds has gone and we will have Charles who will take a whole load of traffic so we need size to try and limit that and not sure Gardiner & Laidlaw would be enough.
As for Bullock, would have been good to have got him back if that was possible (especially when being so close to signing him last time) but I don't think Wire were likely to let him go to us if another club were also in for him.
As long as King Vuniyayaywa is only here until the end of this current season then I don't see it being too much of an issue. The positive for us is we have a player who will be wanting to earn a deal somewhere else for 2025 so will want to put himself in the shop window.

Not too bothered about Nikorima, hardly Bern great this year, hardly played in the NRL and just been sacked for being unprofessional.
Think if he signs long term, we have a decent chance of getting Laifai.

Would make sense given our need for a half back.
