17. Sao/Lane'"
Its still a bottom four squad
Thought we had turned a corner when Asiata was announced but the recruitment since then is bang average
Old Derek at Leigh must be laughing his socks off getting rid of Briscoe,Hardaker and Chamberlain to us
Filling a team with experienced average players and banking on three or four of our younger players coming through to play regular S/L football is not going to get fans flooding back to support the club in 2025

playing alongside Sutcliffe is hardly a wingers dream
Swift obviously decided he would make his own game by coming inside a lot and backing up the likes of Clifford which worked well
Sutcliffe was pants
Swift the best wing with genuine pace we have had for years apart from Ratu

The proof of the pudding will be in the eating (no pun intended) but I'll be amazed if he plays 40 games for us in those 3 years.
Like I said, 5 try assists in a team competing at the top looks pretty poor to me'"
Or it shows that quality players around him are sharing the work load and they’re not relying on one player to unlock a defence.

You were being serious? Are you suggesting he's coasting then? I'm sure Steve mac must be overjoyed with that if he is although personally I think he's out of shape and out of form which is backed up by the stats. Failing to shine in a good team doesn't bide well for when he's in an average one next year.
My main gripe about Abdul isn't his ability it's his fitness and injury record,, like I say I'd be surprised if he ends up playing more than half of our matches as he's struggled to do anywhere in recent years

Disagree, Catalans biggest weakness is that their spine is really struggling to break down defences and create chances, Abdul, morgue and Fages are a big downgrade on May, Pearce and Tomkins

I think it's a team that could challenge for 6th, especially if we sign a hooker, think we will sign at least 4 more players to improve the squad.
Top 5, look good sides and squads, I don't see anything from the teams in 6th to 10th to say we couldn't finish above them next year. Maybe Salford, but they don't have the depth.
A lot with depend of the fitness of Abdul and Asiata along with how the new fullback and hooker go.
And obviously the most important factor the new coach and the staff he brings in.

| Just seen the HDM article on our quota situation. Must admit I calculated wrong and expected we still had a quota place to bring in a hooker. As it’s obvious we are talking to Rimbu the most likely quota player paid off I expect would be Okunbor.
Does this put an end to any talk of a quota centre, halfback or back row now? We’d look silly agreeing deals with players if our quota players decided to dig their heels in and stay out their contracts. What’s the situation with paying players off and the salary cap?

Cartwright will be the quota back rower.
Doubt a quota halfback will be signed now.
Hopefully a quota centre could join but obviously that would mean another current player would need to be released. Possible the way things are going but let’s wait and see.

Don't think we were either in for Sullivan TBF, think that was probably made up by Jenna Brooks.
Think backrow is sorted, although I'm still hopefully of one more, hopefully Whitehead, but seems to have gone quiet.
Don't think it will be issue paying off Ockunbor or another and don't think we will sign anyone until it's sorted, not many players are going to turn down a pay off and an opportunity to get another contract which he will either in the Championship or lower league in Aus.
Centre is key for me, really need a strike centre, this is why I think we need to shift Pele and bring in an overseas centre. Props wise we are Ok and could bring in Chan or simalar from Wigan, Saints etc.
