They'll still want him to be the fall guy on Friday...

| I'm perfectly fine with Grix taking the reigns for the rest of the year. Fail to see how it could get worse under him.
Use the rest of the year to genuinely look for replacements, and not just sign a coach because he's out of a club and always lives within a 6 mile radius.

As long as he takes Gene with him.

| Think Smith has taken on too big a challenge, think he will quit before being sacked, given a reduced playing budget and signing championship standard players was always going to be tough for any coach...whoever the coach is couldn't turn this tripe into a decent team!

Wouldn't be pretty (including myself in that).
Hasn't been given the tools of previous coaches, but still hasn't worked out.

Financially he may have his hands tied, however within in his game plan he must instill the basics, run hard, tackle, complete your sets, have a good kick chase, don’t give away any penalties. Keep it tight in the first 10-15 minutes
In 5/6 games, I think we have conceded a try in the first 5 minutes. The other being London, who took 14 minutes to take the lead.
I would prefer Tony’s brother Brian back until the end of the season, he would get more of a tune from this squad than Tony has.

cartoons/WB17.gif I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.
Money doesn't talk it swears, Obscenity who really cares, Propaganda all is phony.
I'm the son and heir of a shyness which is criminally vulgar.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.

| I'm not sure if sacking Smith would solve anything (I get the feeling that some issues are so deep-set they have become virtually immoveable) but it's certain that sticking with him will almost certainly see these horror shows being repeated week after week after week until our games are being watched by around 200 people!!
Whether it's Smith, his methods, Gene, the players trying to get him sacked, I don't know, but we have now gone beyond the point of no return. Something, somewhere has to change, we can't simply roll along like this any longer, every week that passes is doing irreparable harm to this once great club, soon there will be nothing left to build back on.
If this is another case of player-power attempting to get rid of yet another coach they don't like, well tell the players they can coach and pick a team themselves and see how far they get. At least they, and they alone, would then be accountable for their own actions.

| Think pretty much everyone wanted him to be given the job when the rumours started but he needs to go.

Personally I was happy we appointed him. In fact, I thought we should have gone for him back in 2019 when KR did as things clearly weren't working for Radford then. Yes, it finished on a bit of a soar note at Rovers for Smith but you could see the improvement he had made there. He laid the foundations that they are currently kicking on from. His pedigree and credentials spoke for themselves. Not ashamed to admit that.
But something's not right. I don't think it's just Smith though. It's a rot within the club itself.
