I work for the local Bus company for 25 years at one time if any driver was involved in any accident or incident ..The Company Insurance would pay out (that when it was Council Run )Thing changed when Stockton and Cleveland took over and the same happen when Stagecoach Insurance got into Hull ..Both would go to Court and challenge any incident or accident

Indeed if my son came home and said he had fallen out of a bus window my first reaction would be what happened to make you fall out of it and if he told me this story the last place I would be going would be a solicitor.
I infact would be informing the bus company that I will pay for a replacement window and kicking my son round the house for a few days (so to speak).

This is a point I often make when I see such stories.
We have a whole class of people around the world that would be 'eaten by tiger' or they would have 'fallen off a cliff' etc etc if we were still using stone tools.
Instead we look the other way and make allowances for them whilst all the time there are more of them when they reproduce.

Hmm I wonder if the designers expected a utter fckuwit to be climing on a luggage rack against it at the time of the origional drawings.

All eventualities must be allowed for when dealing with the general public and children in particular.

Like i said earlier in the thread (i think) if a case like this brings about better safety standards in public transport then it was well worth bringing to court. Some of those buses are so bad you should be issued with a hard hat upon entry.

But that is a completly diffrent arguement if she had been sitting on a seat and 1 of the legs gave way tipping her into a window that then gave way the bus company would rightly be at fault but that didn't happen did it?
No she was being a little bast..d and when he had an accident which was directly caused by her own wrong actions her parents saw fit to try and get some free cash instead of rightly locking her in her room until she turned 21!
