| Whilst Chamberlain is solid enough, I was hoping for a strike centre. I can’t imagine well one now. Hope I’m wrong.

You keep saying this, but do you think we will start the season with 2 centres?

znot sure Chamberlain will either, but they have to earn that spot, hopefully we have a stronger coach next season, who won't pick players on salary or reputation.
Grix has done this in some respects since he took over to be fair to him.

| I've no problem with the signing of Chamerlain as a replacement for Scott. Can cover centre, second row and even wing. A handy player to have on the bench.

| With the article stating we made a late move for Chamberlin i wonder if we have missed out on Lafai?
Also with one quota spot left(Carlos) will we still target a centre or 9? (Unless Ockunbor is leaving too)

Probably more to do with Sutcliffe going, guess this was a recent development.
As it stands we have the following quota players for next season
Sao
Pele
Asiata
Stewert
Cartwright
Ese Ese
Ockunbor
You would imagine Ock will go, but this is why I would look to release either Sao or Pele, as we are desperately in need of strike centre and hooker.

I realise some are dobbins and the others are self confessed perfect.
However to counter your criticism..
He’s missed 3 games this season.
In his prime rugby years, England international capped, was in the running for MOS, recognised as one of the best kickers in SL.
Oh and he’s costing £50k on the salary cap.
Another personal favourite of mine is that he’s a Hull born lad too.
Plenty of positives there for me..'"
Plus I don’t get why some keep claiming he’s unfit and out of form?
If he was would Catalan, who are challenging at the top of the table, keep picking him?
If he plays for us like he is this season for them then that will be a big improvement on anything we’ve seen this season.

I said I hope I’m wrong, but are these experienced players coming to be squad players? Or ‘competition’ for places with Litten/reserves player?
Hardaker, Chamberlain and another quota centre is a lot spent on these positions. Maybe Carlos’ mega wage will allow it, though.
Still hoping for Lafai.

Maybe the are planned first choice and it’s just the reality of the financial situation we are in, If we are struggling personally I’d sooner take risks on unknown players (just have someone better at identifying them rather than just taking whoever the bulldogs want rid) but I think it’s an obvious strategy to try and fill the side with steady journeyman in the hope we just don’t get hammered every week.
To be fair Hardaker and Chamberlain are better then what we’ve been able to field most weeks this season.

| With Catalan and Warrington after Bateman, does that suggest perhaps that the rumoured signing of Whitehead will be happening, as I think Catalan would have been all over that. Whitehead and Cartwright in the Back Row, with Holmes off the bench?

I've watched him in the last couple of games and he's been pretty much a passenger on the pitch, struggling to keep up with play, having no real influence on the attack and looking like an oil tanker in defence. If other people can't see that then they need to remove their B&W tinted specs.
I think he has 5 try assists this season, for context, sneyd, in a worse team, has 14 and sneyd used to get slagged from pillar to post on here.
I may be proven wrong, I think it may have happened previously at some point, but his track record doesn't give me any belief I will be. Other than a few early season months at rovers last year and the year before, his career has been monumentally underwhelming and pinning our hopes on him will prove to be a mistake.
He's 28, not 21
