Quote: Sir Kevin Sinfield "Still not out of it?

Your middle 8’s bound IMO'"

if we play like last night, I agree, we have no real grunt in the forwards, and can't complete a tackle without three men in it, and not wrapping the ball up. I don't get this "mental fatigue" rubbish either, these are professional players earning at least double the average salary in Hull.

Last night was blumin awful, attack was pedestrian and predictable.

Hull FC need to get their 541t together...

Yes you did, you said season over at the split, can't mean anything else can it! You obviously don't rate the cup either, as you said it's season over at round 23 d040.gif

Quote: ComeOnYouUll "In comparison to the same fixtures last season (swapping Leigh away for Rovers away) we are just two points down so no need for any panic yet. The fixtures have been a little skewed so far with arguably our toughest four away games already played. That we failed to win any is unfortunate but we only won one of them last season.

We probably need another five wins from thirteen to make the top eight and eight or nine to ensure four home games.'"

Good context. Any team needs some element of luck and we’ve done well with injuries over the last two years, not so much this. Coupled with Watts leaving (massive call) and a tough run of fixtures, it doesn’t look great ATM. The positives for me have been our centres who’ve been great, Taylor, back to his best, and the number of homegrown players now establishing themselves as SL players. But we’re struggling in the back row - last year we had Ellis, Manu and Mini, last night it was Washy, Lane, Fash. No disrespect intended whatever but you can’t expect parity of performance. As said already, target one is 5 more wins. Won’t be easy with half a dozen sidelined. I certainly wouldn’t want to be in the middle 8s, not just to avoid the MPG but doubt it would help your cause if the league reduces to 10 as rumoured.

Plenty of effort last night , well beaten by a good Saints side .
Our pack this season can’t seem to get us on the front foot like the last couple of seasons. We are finding it hard to gain territory.
Worryingly another 2 injures picked up . On that note , we seem to be picking up a lot of calf injuries. Just a coincidence?

Absolute nonsense, that simply cannot happen for next season at the very least and we will not be in the M8s d040.gif
Home grown players are "establishing themselves" as std squad players, as Kirk Dixon said last year and this, our youngsters simply lack quality and experience and its noticeable. Only Fash is really a 1st XVII std player.

Radford's inability to develop players over the last 4 years is starting to show as it did last year and the salary cap problems stemming from the or bust 2016 season are continuing to effect us.
Still think Watts was sold on for £100k due to disciplinary reasons, not even close. We couldn't even get a bustling young kid from London Broncos under the cap or anyone else with experience to replace Watts.
Keep swallowing what Radford and Pearson dump off into your head!

ah, the bastian of fact that is the Guardian, only bettered by The Sun, Star and The Huffington Post.

no way will SL drop to 10 teams, Sky wouldn't have enough games for a start, and a lot of players wouldn't get a job if it filtertered down the leagues.

After reflecting on last night in all honesty I think what I saw last night was probably to be expected. We played high intensity Derby with 12 men for 71 minutes then a very tough contest against a good Wakey. Sts had a fairly tough game against Wigan but a fairly comfortable game against Widnes.
We looked very much like a team that were playing 3 games in 8 days.
My main criticism with our team is our poor attacking play and options. When we're close to the opposition line we just look static and very predictable. This is an area we have been lacking for years and we need to address it.
We still lack any real angled/dummy runners, support play and pass back far too deep so make very little ground at times as the ball has gone back so far.
When we get quick ptb we look totally a different team but teams have realised that and now slow us down to stop that threat. So we need to work on our attacking play.
Loosing Watts may well prove to be good for us long term but presently it's hurting us.
Still not all doom n gloom as think we will still be there or there abouts but we can not let the gap of 2nd/3rd get much bigger.

So many drama queens on here! For the last week most people have been saying the Saints game is a “free hit” but now we’ve lost it some of those are saying we’re heading for the middle 8’s - we’re not! At the end of the day we’ve lost our away games to the top 4 and a slip up to Salford. The next 5 will really tell us where we’re at when we start playing them at home. Do I think we’re as good as last year? No. Do I think we can make top 4 still? Yes.

The reality of course is that, like it or not, Radford is our most successful coach in a generation and is giving loads of game time to develop younger players (as you've been requesting him to, a lot). We could well be in the Middle 8s, and it's arrogant and disrespectful to state it's a given that we make the top 8 IMO at this point.

Which numpty said Hull are middle 8s bound? While they will struggle to acquire a top 4 slot, they certainly won't be kicking their heels with the deadmen like KR etc come the back end of this season.
