| Quote: east hull FC fan "Ive never seen him work so can't form an opinion on what he's like to work for, as for players that have achieved something, how many have been fit all year? The ones that reached the GF in 06 that was mainly down to Agar as peter sharp has said time and time again. You're saying that he hasn't won anything but how many of the top coaches did in there first full season? Huddersfield got relegated under tony smith!'"
No he hasn't.
People have misquoted him on here time and time again, though.
Agar was not responsible for Hull reaching the Grand Final in 2006.

What happened to everyone being entitled to their opinion?

Absolutely nothing if individual opinions are respected, it creates debate etc, however respect is lacking when posters are referred to as Agar lovers etc.

I doubt it, of course the two are different but it's hardly an unrelated question. Anyway, the point is at which stage do the excuses stop being allowed to wash. In he season in a half Agar has been in charge he's done nothing to show he is up to the job and plenty to show that he isn't. All he has is a list of excuses to explain why the club is failing, but this doesn't explain why there have been no positive signs of progress under his leadership at all (even allowing for poor results).

Maybe when professional sport is your every day work? Doe it not count for the players as a job then?

TBF I am not reading posts that totally exonerate Agar from the problems at Hull. Some are sympathetic to his injury/visa problems which were out of his control, some think a number of players are a big problem, some think his sidekick is a hinderance and that Agar needs to grow a pair and get rid.
The answer is probably a bit of all the above.
We know he will start to season as head coach and if the player cull happens and injuries are kind to us then Agar will sink or swim by what Hull FC do and the field of play. He still has a hell of a lot to prove.

You are exactly right and it's something I have said recently as well. I think some people unfortunately think that attaching (usually silly and immature) labels to posters who disagree with them in some way enhances their argument. Also calling Agar names is also embarrassingly prevalent. There are good arguments on both sides of the Agar divide and even better ones near the middle of it IMO but alas some prefer the playground level of debate to that of grown ups.

I agree with you about the childishness of it all, especially when no side of the debate has conclusively proven to be correct. I have to say though Il be the first to gloat to all the Agar backers on here when he does get the boot, but equally if he somehow makes a success of the season I would be the first to eat humble pie.
As far as calling Agar goes, respect is earnt and he's done nothing to earn mine. I think he's probably a nice guy but a useless coach and a spineless, unintelligent man. I have the right to give my opinion on him on here, and I'd be happy to tell him this to his face before anyone brings that up.

For me its not about backing agar, its about backing the boards decision to give him a chance with the signings he has made for next season. Im unsure if he is good enough

In a nutshell. Me too. And if he isn't good enough then he goes.

Have you ever met him? Because I'm not sure that forming an opinion of his intelligence or willpower based on a limited number of media appearances is all that clever TBH.
Intelligence does not always make someone articulate, and it's difficult to judge how much 'spine' he possesses without access to all the facts about what's been going on behind the scenes.
You certainly have the right to give your opinion of him on here (as long as you stay within the AUP) but you probably ought to be aware that posting stuff like the above makes you look rather childish IMO.

My concern about that is how much damage gets done in the meantime.
