| Quote Dave K.="Dave K."With the massive news this morning, I'd doubt Wilson will he going to Cas.
Also gives us a massive advantage over Rovers, we are no in pole position to get the best local players and Cas wont be poaching our players for a while.
Not sure it's a great decision for the game though'"
It will be interesting but until we know for sure I won't rule anything out, though you would think he'd staying to be a part of an Elite set up.
More news on the academy [url=https://www.hullfc.com/blog/2021/05/21/hull-fc-academy-granted-elite-license-up-to-2027/here[/url
Agree with your thoughts Dave in regards to whether it good for the game in general or not

| What's the actual difference between those running elite academy's and those running standard academy's?
It's abit vague apart from detailing the standards our academy's achieved hence being awarded elite academy status.

You want to play against the best and the only way to do that will be in he elite academy. Rovers have to play against college teams.

Yes anytyeam with Elite status has to run one which is good news, others like Rovers have the option.
One player in the Rovers squad that has come through their academy, he is 25 and leaving, maybe that's why they didn't get in?

Wilson won't be going to Cas anyway. Andy Last will be though to join up with Radders unless CC loses his job at Wakey and Last gets the head coaches gig

| Brilliant news for us. Congratulations to the club, so much hard work gone into the application so great to see just reward. We've heard a lot about John Bastian being Rovers most important signing of all time, so if true I guess we will be having a conversation? Or if not we just file him under HKR unfounded hyperbole along with Jamie Peacock.

If Wakey get beat by Rovers on sunday, I can see Chris Chester walking away. He looked totally deflated last week.

| I probably disagree with these elite licenses, the game is on its , and the guys at the top table need moving on, the RFL is usually the main culprit, but I think on this occasion it’s a joint decision with Super league.
Don’t get me wrong it’s great for us, and I assume we will pick up all of the best candidates at tender ages, but as a sport in general, wouldn’t we want as many teams as possible to run academy, and reserve fixtures off a level playing field.
I don’t pretend to know all the reasoning behind this decision,
We are nothing without the strength of the complete competition, apparently they denied Cas a license, because of their location and the catchment of other clubs, it can only be Leeds & Wakey.
Yet we see Saints Wire & Wigan all get licenses, location rule not applicable on this occasion.
Hudgel once said, they are not fit for purpose, and he was right.

Try the first 2 criteria for starters....
1. To ensure that Academies are operated sensitively and proportionately to the continuing good health of the Community Game;
2. That the number of players selected for Academies is proportionate to the number of players within the Community Game at the relevant age and that the players selected have a genuine opportunity of progressing into the Super League and National teams;
