| Quote: bonaire "Have said many times Hull should use Shaul as a nine now the rules have changed. His running with the ball from acting half would be sensational.
You dont need distribution skills to be able to pick up a ball and pass to a first receiver.
In any case he cant be worse at passing a ball than Danny Houghton as was shown yesterday.'"
He'd be a worse version of Brad Dwyer at 9. He hasn't got the decision making to play 9, never mind the workrate.
He'd be best off on the wing

| Quote: Dave K. "This is what a lot of us have been saying for a year or two now, you can't have Shaul and Sneyd as two of your pivots as neither are creative enough or have that good a passing game.
Having Reynolds with Connor as FB, makes our passing much faster and accurate, there is no way Shaul would have put Griffin through that gap.
We do lose some pace, so would love to see Hodgson working wit Shaul to improve his passing and decision making in the opposition's 20, this would gives us even more competition for places.'"
We lose a lot of pace and hope im wrong it's exactly what will hold us back against the best teams
Couldn't help but think when Reynolds jumped on that loose ball and went 30 metres Kelly would of gone the full length
And against the best they need to be scored and apart from wingers we don't have anyone fast enough to go full length now
But that said Reynolds bring so much leadership and gives everything and doesn't take a backwards step and hopefully will rub off on the squad

| After 3 seasons at West Tigers where he suffered frustrating injury and selection problems it was a pleasure to see him back in the groove again and obviously enjoying his role. Fingers crossed he can steer clear of major injury.

He'd be best off on a plane to Dallas!

| Quote: GrahamBray "Jamie Shaul is amazing - in broken play, not structured plays. He is the type of player that can score from nothing, which is useful but as a pivot, his input is so limited that we cannot afford to play him as a fullback. It is a great shame that his passing is so limited, if he could improve that side, I think he would have done so already, for me that talent is not coached in to a player it is a natural trait that some are born with, but not Jamie.. If he had the skills that Connor has, his potential would be virtually limitless in the British game. I'd often thought he'd be a great hooker but again, he lacks the distribution skills required. Nice problem to have though, excellent for squad rotation and to keep Jake on his game.'" i agree on your hooker opinion plus it would give him more time to pick/plan his passing ? a set start off the floor ,imo with his scoot ability it could make him quite a weapon in our armory

| I think people are forgetting the defensive duties of a hooker! Could shaul defend in the middle with the big fellas, I’m very much doubting it, I’m sure shaul could do a lot more with the ball then he as in previous seasons, especially with hodgson as coach, I’m happy to see him battle it out with Connor for the number 1 shirt, jakes form could easily dip, and always chance of an injury. Also would be happy with 3 forwards and shaul on the bench

| For my tuppence worth - there are going to be times when things don't come off for Josh, and even some whole games where he could have a bit of a mare. I really hope fans don't get on his back for this if it happens. For all the structure that modern RL teams have to play to there is still space for players with a more maverick role. Reynolds seems to fall somewhere between the 2 but as a playmaker we are going to have to accept that sometimes things won't quite work out. From what i have seen so far there are going to be many more good times than bad

| It’s a blow for sure
I’m more confident now though, as it seems to be more about systems than players.
Good luck young Macca!

4-6 weeks, hopefully 4.
Sneyd on thought which is a real plus.
A lot more confident with Hodgson we can cope with this loss than previous season.
Big chance for McNamara

| I'm not worried. He will be a miss for sure but I have much more faith in the systems than I ever did under Radford and I'm sure whoever comes in will do a solid job.
Question is which way do we go? Do we just back McNamara to partner Sneyd and leave everything else as is? Do you move Connor to 6 and bring in Wynne at full back? Or maybe shift Tuimavave to 6, with either Scott at centre, or Fonua at centre and Faraimo on the wing?
Pros and cons to all of them but I think they are all sound options. I feel like McNamara will get the nod against Fev, and that will be something of an audition to see if he stays there for the Warrington game.

Connor has the number 1 shirt. He is our first choice full back.
McNamara comes in. No one moves. Simplez.

I agree. I'd like to see McNamara given a chance against Featherstone and see how he goes. If it doesn't go too well I'd move Carlos to S/O. Not his best position but he'll do a job.
Connor must stay at full back unless there are further injuries.
