| Just imagine if Gareth Ellis is unsuccessful in his new position as our football manager, and how much more he'll be eulogised, as a player, in the future, if we don't manage another major trophy for 10/20 years?

The kid has gone with his gut instinct.
AP sold Gaz the vision when he had many suitors upon his SL return.
Sure Gaz & Radders have done similar.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |
|
| “I chose Hull because I felt it would be the right environment for me. There’s some great players and outstanding facilities,” he said.
“Scott Taylor and Mickey Paea are two players who I look up to. They play very similar rugby to the style I like to play, and I’m looking forward to working with them.
“I was impressed with the success that Hull have had in the last two years, winning the Challenge Cup, and I’m hungry to enjoy some of that.”

| Thing is, when it comes to recruitment overseas, Gaz Ellis' name and reputation is second to none in the NRL. Just a shame we can't utilise it fully due to the disparity in the Salary Cap.

| To begin with, 2 big hard running forwards to replace Watts and Minichiello, and hopefully a back rower to replace Washbrook.
But a lot depends on Kelly, I’d marquee him (still a big ask) we look so much more of a threat with him in the team. Don’t think Connor or Abdull are the answer.
I’d keep Manu (big ask again) and Talanoa providing he can keep fit. Hopefully we will keep some continuity, feel this has been crucial to our recent success. The best sides keep the same core of players and add 2 or 3 each year to improve/freshen up.

Abdull is under contract till end of 2019. Signed a new deal with Watts last season.

| There's a young back rower at york who is being chased by sl clubs. Wonder if we're one of them?

Joe Batchelor? Saw Saints are leading the way for him, his brother is at Wakey, he was kicking the goals last week against us. One position we’re well covered with youngsters though, will need a couple of first 17 back rowers not squad fillers.

| If we sign second rowers they need to be starting players. Mini and washbrook to go for me.
Mini has been a great servant and washy has surpassed all expectations when he returned but is now blocking the younger players coming through.
I would keep Talanoa and try to keep Manu and Kelly. Connor has done some great things in the halves and if he trained through the preseason in that position would improve. Can’t expect too much from him when he’s switching in and out of that position.

Agree we need 1st choice player but are we so stacked with quality young back rowers we don't need to be interested in the lad at York?
Who do we have beyond lane and turgut?

Well we’d hopefully have a back row of
Manu
New signing
Hadley
Plus a new bench back rower, then you’d have Abdull, Fash, Lane and Turget as cover, plus the option of playing props at 13. I’d be tempted to loan out Turget though to get him guaranteed game time, needs to playing more than he is now.
